WILL NBA PLAY-IN GAMES BE COUNTED AS PART OF THE REGULAR SEASON OR THE PLAYOFFS?

I think I posted this to the wrong forum the other day. I did not even know there was a help forum.

Will NBA Play-in games be counted as part of the regular season, the playoffs or not at all? For those who don't know what this is, there may be a couple of extra games played to decide the 8th seed in each conference. I figure to avoid confusion, it would be good for this to be decided ahead of time.

Here are the details of play-in games:

If the team with the eighth-best combined winning percentage (regular season games and Seeding Games) in a conference is more than four games ahead of the team with the ninth-best combined winning percentage in that conference, then the team with the eighth-best combined winning percentage will be the eighth seed in the playoffs, and no Play-In Game(s) would be played, for that conference.

If the team with the eighth-best combined winning percentage (regular season games and Seeding Games) in a conference is four or fewer games ahead of the team with the ninth-best combined winning percentage in that conference, then those two teams will participate in a “play-in” to determine which team will be the eighth seed in the playoffs in that conference. In order to secure the playoff spot: (1) the team with the eighth-best combined winning percentage will need to win one Play-In Game, and (2) the team with the ninth-best combined winning percentage will need to win two.

No, that was a good forum to post in I just haven't been in that forum in the past few days I apologize for that.

As for the play-in games I don't have a definitive answer yet since it depends on whether our data provider tags the games as either regular or post season games. And since the games haven't been determined yet the games haven't come through so that i can determine this. We have reached out to a representative at our data provider and should have a definitive answer fairly soon. Our general consensus is that they will be tagged as regular season games therefore count towards the NBA KoC regular season contest.

But I will keep you updated.
