It’s been a pleasure to follow the growth of the DraftKings Tennis DFS community. Your loyalty and feedback have encouraged rapid expansion of our Tennis experience.
We’ve heard your feedback and will be implementing a change to walkover scoring:
1. A walkover is when a player advances to the next round of the tournament because his/her opponent withdraws before the match has started.
2. Previously, in the event of a walkover, the advancing player received zero fantasy points
3. Starting 6/28, the advancing player will be awarded 30 points
Starting 6/28, in the event of a walkover, the advancing player will be awarded 30 fantasy points. We considered many of the alternative scoring systems that were suggested by our users, there were some great suggestions! We feel 30 fantasy points is the sweet spot, nobody wants to experience a zero, yet at the same time we do not want to unintentionally encourage poor sportsmanship within the ecosystem. It would not look good if players were rooting for a walkover to occur as a means of gaining an edge.
The Tennis rules page will be updated officially on 6/28.
