Drop Swisher or Bay or Jeter for Smoak or Hosmer?

Should I drop any of my guys for any of these free agents?

Free Agents:  Smoak, Ryan Roberts, Coghlan, Beachy, Hosmer

12 team h2h standard 5x5 league, non-keeper.

id drop gardner, jeter, and bay for smoak, hosmer, and coghlan. Jeters garbage and you have starlin now who is a legend. Not much to think about there. Hosmer is the next big thing. Your league is full of noobs if he is still available. Hurry up...

Thats alot of 1B on my roster, Dunn, Berkman, Hosmer, Smoak.  Only 1 Utility player and 1 1B. 

Jeter can be traded. Terrible idea to drop him.

Nobody wants Jeter, not even the guy with Uribe at SS.

For Nunez.

He has Feliz, Soria, Nunez and Perez as his closers.

But Uribe at his SS.

So the only one to drop for sure would be Bay for Smoak at the moment right?  Hold out on Hosmer and Beachy...and see if Swish turns it around and Jeter can be traded for something.

Yea...I still think Jeter can be traded for someone. There is no reason to get a bunch of 1st basemen, as you mentioned, when you can only use 2. And Jeter is worth keeping on the bench IF he turns it around. Your offense is solid enough to have a guy just sitting there

Keep Gardner for steals. He's been getting on base a lot more lately and, while the steals aren't really there yet, they will be in time.

I say you drop Swisher for Smoak and Bay for Hosmer. Smoak is a better option at 1st than Dunn right now and Dunn is useless until he starts to turn it around. He's really in a bad funk and he should be benched until he does ANYTHING that remotely shows life. And Hosmer's ceiling is high enough to stash him, even thought your roster isn't all that deep.

Forget what I said about getting a bunch of 1st basemen seeing that you'll be doing that anyway. But the last paragraph is the main point I'm trying to put across.

Pick up Hosmer asap He was just called up. He won't last long. Fuck Jeter....don't listen to sparky about him he's a Yankee homer. Guy is crap. No one will trade for him. Sure someone will pick him up, but that guy will most likely drop him also at some point.

How is Swisher going to help his team? Swisher gets dropped and nobody will pick him up. Both will be riding his bench. At least Jeter has potential trade value.

The way I see it is this...

How will Jeter hurt him on his bench? Both Bay and Swisher are dropable. Whoever he picks up (whether it be Smoak or Hosmer) could go directly into his utility spot. If Jeter turns it around...he's much more valuable than if Swisher or Bay turns it around (unless they got back to 28+ HR guys).

Jeter is good for 100+ Runs Scored.

I really thought Swisher would post up similar numbers as last year and Bay would bounce back and adjust to Citi Field the way Wright did.  I guess not...but at the moment, I'm thinking of dropping Bay for Smoak for sure until Dunn starts to hit.

Hosmer is up in the air at the moment, so much hype surrounding him, and I don't quite get it?

Hosmer has much more upside. In your situation...yes. You should go after Hosmer as Wallace doesn't do much for you.

I just dropped Bay myself. He could turn it around but hasn't shown signs of it. Swisher will still probably put up better numbers as the weather gets warmer but Ichiro, Berkman and Victorino are the better options right now.

I'd drop Rios and Broxton. Pick up Padilla. Hosmer will be great. Who knows what kind of start he will have though getting used to the majors. He's the kinda guy you stash on the bench and monitor because big things will eventually come, especially if you are in a keeper league. Wallace is pretty hot at the moment. Enjoy the hot streak while it lasts....

Broxton would be the better option. He has a problem with his elbow and still hasn't locked down the closer job.

Castro is a legend compared to jeter this year. Jeter blows. One good day in arlington doesn't make up for being a bum all season. They were pondering benching him last week.
