Playoff Fantasy Talk Week #14

Starting this early although we got the Monday night game to go... Has no effect on my position went head to head with #1 team and lost for the second time in the regular season, however the margin was very close about 15 points and considering he has Westbrook who just had a ridiculous week I think my team can hold their own if we rematch in the finals in Week #16 considering I had Brees, Barber and Clavin Johnson not have such a great week.
 
OK I already know my leans for this week Can go 2 RB 2 WR or 1 RB and 3 WR... I am going to hold my tongue for now in an effort to not sway opinions
 
1 QB              Brees at home versus Atlanta
                     Warner at home versus St. Louis
 
RB                 Barber  at Pittsburgh
                     C Johnson  home versus Cleveland
                     L White    home versus Cleveland
 
WR               Calvin Johnson  home to Minnesota
                     Driver home to Houston
                     Mason home to Washington
                     Roy Williams at Pittsburgh
                     Matt Jones at Chicago
 
TE                Keller at San francisco
                     Scafie home versus Cleveland
 
K                  Akers  at NY Giants
                    Longwell  at Detroit
 
DEF             Tampa  plays  at Carolina
                    Minnesota plays at Detroit

Warner atr home vs his old team off a loss..
 
Start both Tenn backs -Clev is shot -Ken Dorsey , although from my U is gonna get
 
Calvin Johnson, Mason , and Keller
 
Akers and Minn DEF ..
 
I won this week-6 in a row , won my division .. should have a bye ..

Fathomable- I would say Minnesota seems pretty obvious. How could you not start a defense that is scheduled to play Detroit.
 
I agree with you both umgmu and Fatomable Warner looks to have the better matchup against a suspect Rams D
 
I think I need to here more on Barber's status before I put my #1 back on the shelf even against Pittsburgh.
 
C Johnson is a must
Megatron is a must
Keler is now a must
Leaning Longwell indoors at Kicker
 
I think my main question is Driver or Mason... leaning Driver against the #13 Texans passing D over Mason against the #7 Wash pass D.

The risks I took this week hurt big time dropping me from #1 to #3.
 
My choices are:
 
Orton vs Jax or Thiggy @ DEN - leaning Thiggy
 
Need to start 3 WR. Colston and Breaston are already in I think. The third is between Bruce vs NYJ, Cotchery @ SF, and Williams @ PITT - strong lean toward Bruce. I dropped Jenkins and Bradley.
 
RB is no-brainer for me with Peterson and Turner.
 
Dallas Clark is my only TE.
 
Gostkowski at K but Elam and Prater are available.
 
Green Bay vs HOU or PITT vs DAL. I sat Pitt for GB this past week and it cost me 19 points.

how the hell do you have Warner and Brees. Wow, the 2 top Fantasy QB's. Its too late, but you could have traded one of them for a stud RB or WR. you definitly have options but you gotta go with Warner this week

Clutch-   I think I go Thigpen. Denver  #27 pass D
 
Shouldn't cotchery find some daylight against the San Fran pass D #28 .
 
Wow didn't realize NY Jets #30 pass D, but I don't know I trust old man Bruce...he has done better as of late with Hill as QB but I may be inclined to go with  Cotchery.
 
I stay with Gostkowski NE should be able to score at will versus Seattle.
 
I dunno tough call at D... Slight lean to GB but very lukewarm. Dallas should be able to score even against Pitt D.
 
Sherman - I knew my plan for the 1st 2 rounds draft Barber at #7 spot and catch Brees on the way back.... Warner was a gift I drafted him as a backup in the 10th round .

Warner love the match up

both Tenn backs love the match up plus barbur banged up and I dont think PITT is overrated, I think Johnson and White will combine for 200 yards at least and at least 3 TDs dont think you want to chance it and put in the wrong one.

calvin no brainer
than tuff call driver or Mason at first glace its easy to say driver but i think I would go Mason (but I have Jennings so I'm praying he gets all the looks)

TE glad I dont have to pick between the two but think Keller has best chance for td, but if you are in ppr Bo might be the play

Longwell based off the indoor factor

QB Kyle Orten vs JAC or Jason Campbell @ BAL or Shaun Hill vs NYJ
NEED ONE  leaning Orten think this could be game he gets back on track but Hill looking tempting could put up great numbers on the Jets, thinking 49ers well be trailing most of the game.  Campbell not even thinking about vs BAL

RB WR FLEX DeAngelo Williams vs TB or Maurice Jones-Drew @ CHI or Tim Hightower vs StL or Jamal Lewis @ TENN or Willis McGahee vs WAS or Wes Welker @ SEA Greg Jennings  vs HOU Donmenik Hixon vs PHI
NEED 1RB 1WR 3FLEX for sure RB Williams for sure WR and 1 flex Welker and Jennings than leaning MJD remmber ppr and also leaning Hightower last time he blew up StL and after two straight losses by cards I'm thinking they try to get a run game going but hard to sit Hixon thinking he has good game maybe 6 catches and hard to sit Lewis knowing he will get 20+ carriers and maybe a catch or 2 with Anderson and Quinn out Dorsey going to dump pass to backs and TEs.

BP I wish I had your qb problems

I like Warner at home but I think he playos only 3 quarters of this game as it will probably be 45 - 3 once the 4thq begins so I will lean Brees

as a cowboy fan they will lean heavy on Barber assuming he is atleast 80 - 90% huge game for my Boys
start both of your CJ'S
 and find it hard to get excited about this but Mason might be your next best choice however I would still flip a coin on this one with double D

Homegrown I agree with you, I think the Cards will be up so much that if they do not take Warner out, he will just be handing off. You can't take a chance on losing your only QB when you know your in the playoffs already. Brees will be in the type of game that looks to be a shoot out.

BP I do not like Barber here at all, a dislocated toe will be very hard to cut on and I see him not getting through the game. I would roll with both RB's for Tenn as this game will probably be such a blowout that they both get some good work in.
 
I like CJ home versus Minny, he sees 90% of the targets and Kevin Smith may be able to run a little so that may get CJ some end zone shots. If AP goes nuts then he will get a lot of garbage yards. I also like Driver vs Houston and Mason vs Washington. 
 
I love Keller @ SF as far seems to always check down to him and he gets red zone opp's.                    
 
I like Longwell because he is indoors and should put up some nice points. I think Philly will be playing from behind most of the game and that will take opp's away from Akers.
 
Minnesota is a no brainer

Thanks for the angle on Warner being pulled early Homegrown and Memo....  But has Arizona really been able to demonstrate they can run the ball not that the Saints can either
 
Brees is absolutely lights out in the dome...
 
I'm going to wait on news of MB3... However this is a point per reception league and he usually gets about 5 check down receptions per game.  If I bench him and he blows up I probably would not forgive myself.

BP remember who AZ is playing, I witnessed that debacle of a game where there RB ran all over the Rams last time they played. Barber would make a better play if he is 100% and gets the checkdowns, so you may just want to wait like you said. Dallas really has no other option but to start him as Felix is out and then after that is a rookie, he did pretty decent last week but that was against Sea.

BP I cant see the TENN backs not taking you past the first round of the playoffs MB3 is a stud but Dallas is going to try to pass on the road and with a hurting back yeah he might get 5 pts of catches but white might get 2 tds.  Its going to be like the turkey day game titans will get up and rest there rookie back

this is just my thoughts though i understand if MB3 blows up you will not be able to sleep

Thanks guys looking for info on Barber... You guys got my wheels spinning on Brees ... I only benched him twice in favor of Warner.
 
Dome is really where he cooks, If  I make it to the next round I will bench him for sure in Chicago, doesn't do as well in the elements although he played at Purdue

so i got knocked out of the playoffs in my main league on some last minute changes; mainly taking out bryant for vinatieri but im still alive in my other league and playoffs start this week in that one.
 
QB: Warner vs. STL or Farve @ SF, Thigpen @ Den
 
RB: T. Jones @ SF, Johnson vs. Cle, and Barber @ Pitt (also picked up choice if barber is held out)
 
WR: Royal vs. KC, Cotchery @ SF, Breaston vs. STL, Edwards @ Tenn, or Muhammad vs. TB

TE: Cooley
 
K: Crosby
 
Def: Ravens
 
No ppr but you do get 1 point for every 25 kick/punt return yards and 6 for kick/punt TD

Good luck  I'm itching for this week to get started, taking a break from cappin, had a rough couple weeks.  I just keep lookin at my lineups for fantasy.
