Great analysis when it comes to England. You surely know your team. I also agree with the fact that the battle in the midfield between Pirlo (or as Hodgson use to call him with Inter, Pirla) and Gerrard will be key for both teams. So you think Sturridge will be able to perform the same way with the National team as he did this year with Liverpool?

It's one man's opinion, that's all! Would I bet it? That is relevant. I wouldn't be comfortable backing either teams for sure and would pick the draw. the problem with Sturridge is he's good but I think we saw today that a good defence (Chelsea) will have the advantage over a team that is playing to win. Suarez was largely ineffective against a crowded defence. On his own he couldn't really shake the tight marking tactics Chelsea employed.
Chelsea effectively played with six defenders and three defensive midfielders today and that is the problem facing England if they need to win. Thankfully we play Italy first game so that is not a huge factor and surely Italy will show some ambition. Even though Sturridge didn't play from the start, it leaves the question: If Suarez and Sturridge couldn't make inroads through Chelsea with plenty of possession from midfield, what chances does England have?
Sturridge will effectively be marked out of the game if Rooney cannot hold his discipline or position well enough to keep Italian defenders honest. Pirlo could be shadowing Rooney leaving 4 defenders to cope with Sterling and Sturridge. Far too easy as Chelsea showed today. Sturridge could move about and play on the shoulder of the last defender but will Hodgson sanction such freedom for Sturridge that he affords to Rooney?
Lots of questions and not enough answers. Today's big game was decided by a mistake from Gerrard. Lots will depend on luck from either team with both relying on moments of individual brilliance or errors. That doesn't happen often so the draw is the logical result for me. Not really an attractive betting proposition but then again, I'm the last guy to ask because I simply do not bet football these days.

Most of you in Europe will know much more than I do about all the teams, players, etc. ... but what I saw last year in Confederations Cup in Brazil helped give some idea. I do think Italy at 20:1 has some value, so I took it. Also, Buffon seems to be one of the better goalkeepers out there. He made some remarkable saves in semis vs. Brazil to keep the game from getting out of hand.
