no shot could have been 2 -1 Belgium with those incredible saves by Lloris
Analytics say it should have been 1.91 to .38 for France. It also says France should win that game 78%.This is based on how the game was played, and where the chances were. So if you had Belgium and you feel like you were on the right side, you are mistaken.https://twitter.com/11tegen11/status/1016775803261149186
France is the team to beat. The path was opened up for them a few times, esp with the injury to Cavani, then the loss by Brasil.
I also believe that spectatotrs/observers/pundits all help to create expectations and have an effect on what happens during a game. People EXPECT Tom Brady to bein the SB. They EXPECT LeBron James to be in the Championship.Quantum physics informs us that these expectations can drive our shared reality and perceptions. Most fans were expecting France to be in the Championship.
I am taking the position that they will be runner ups (just like Brady, just like LeBron). It is a calculable risk. France is not destroying their competition, and they allow just about every team to stay in the game with them. They do not put their opponents away.
Fans want to see France v England. I think England has over achieved, and the midfield of Croatia, just like the line of scrimmage in American football, will be the deciding factor.
I could be wrong. It is not easy to choose a side, esp in a widely viewed contest. France at +100 v. Uruguay (w/o Cavani) was relatively easy. France is AN EXTREMELY WELL PREPARED TEAM, with excellent staff and coaching.
I understand why France is favored. I am taking chances going the other way, and the odds will reward me for that choice.

Besides two incredible saves ( a virtuosso performance noone else could have done), Belgium did get the ball to Lukulu twice and he did not anticipate properly to address the ball, direct it to the goal. He has been off the last few games. These are games of personal mathchups and high performance. He was absent. Those are the breaks. And France did not bend late at all. That was not Japan out there, so no comeback.
This will be a great championship game, whoever wins tomorrow.
I like Croatia. I could be wrong. I will stick with it. The game, like today's, will be very close.

TELEMUNDO APP is the best download for free live coverage. It is actually a few sec faster than FOX tv feed. You get 30 min free, then must put in ur cable info.
Or you can pay USD$49.95 a month for Fubo.tv for slow, crappy feeds and just about the worst customer service - I don't know how they are in business when what they're selling is absolutely 100% free on the internet (Mostly if you have a cable provider - and if you can't afford one you can't afford Fubo.tv)

France totally outplayed Belgium from the get go - without graphs, although they are interesting. Just watching the match for the first 30 minutes it was obvious, baring a miracle stroke of luck, who was going to advance.

A lot of people are working early in the morning, but can leave on the Telemundo App with volume down (Spanish announcers are more animated). Then all the coworkers can walk by and glance down for updates. Checking the scoreboard is basically useless in soccer.

Croatia or England will certainly try to play a defensive, cagey game against France. The calls and non calls by the "arbitros" (refs) therefore are critical. France is loaded all over the field. They do not need referee help, unless the opposition is "parking the bus."
Uruguay was the greatest danger to France b/c they are trained to respond on the counterattack with Cavani and Suarez. We all know Cavani had the "magical muscle tear" just in time before the France match.
Only if Griessman is injured and is unable to play (like Cavani) will ball distribution for France suffer, and their play too predictable.
Griessman is the key player for France (I believe he is from Uruguay, so like most of the French team, the players are not native born but are "secundaire" or more connected to other nationalities than France, except the coaches. The immediate circle of 10+ coaches/managers are 100% French.)
