Anyone got any good whiskey cocktail recipes ??

Question

Not much of a cocktail drinker and even though I worked as a bartender for years I never made that many mixed drinks, tastes are different in Ireland & New Zealand. I've had the odd mojito,mint julep,mai tai amongst others but I'm not really into fruity or sweet drinks and am just wondering if anyone has any good recipes for Jack Daniels,Jim Beam or any other bourbon based drinks ??

jack, beam, crown, makers, basil hayden etc..

- Glass
- 2 or 3 ice cubes
- Couple of shots worth of whiskey / bourbon
- Splash (I mean a splash no more) of water.

That is all you need. I love whiskey / bourbon.

By the way start by adding the water for the first couple of weeks or so. Eventually though this step should be phased out.

Kind of like a good steak. No need to screw it up with too many added flavors.

Mixed drinks are for cheap vodka and tequila.  My recipe for a good whisky drink is one glass, pour generously (at least 3 fingers high).  Whisky should be enjoyed, not watered down.
