I'm pretty damn sure I have a dumb question but I'm a rookie in the pill world so it can't hurt to ask. Is Oxycodon the same as Oxycontin and if not then what is the difference? I've tried some Hydrocodon but they don't seem to do much unless they're 10's or unless it's 3 or 4 5's or 7.5's
Whoever said aspirin/tylenol/etc will fuck up your shit is right. I get headaches pretty regularly and when I'm out of the green goodness I head straight for the giant bottle of aceteminaphen live/kidney poison. This shit is bad and can cause for some rough mornings. Not to mention most aspirin products usually have 500mg of it, once you start poppin em 2, 3 at a time it'll really catch up.
So what is you guys most recommended med for pain?
Kin, Oxycontin and Oxycodone are not the same thing, but they are very very similar, I'm not really sure what to tell you the difference is. Oxycontin is treated as the more 'serious' painkiller but by the mg it does the same thing as oxycodone - its just that typically oxycodone is mixed with acetominophin to make pills like vicodin and percocet. Unless of course you get the big 'percocet', although they aren't technically percs since I think that is one brands name for the pill. 30mg and I think maybe 15mg oxycodone don't have any acetominophin, and I don't think typically oxycontin has it either. Hope that helps. I don't do any pills any more, and when I did it wasn't really for pain but I would recommend the 30mg oxycodone Just recognize that it is a dangerous drug, you can quickly get addicted if you aren't very conscious of hints your body is giving you.

Spit, I get 10 mgs of oxycodones, and 80 contins. I never feel buzzed like I would have two years ago, but it merely helps me through the chronic pain in order to function day to day. This the term pain management.
Your post above this one is spot on. And unless it's supervised by a doc, it's not a good idea.
About 15 yrs ago, I was taking 800 mgs of ibuprofen and put a really nice painful whole in my stomach.
I'm a fan of prescription anti-inflammatories (sp?), because you don't feel goofy, but I barely feel anything discomfort, but I'm not high or anything. Had I not taken the pain med oxycontin, a klonopin for tremors inside from my skull trying to bust a car window, etc. , I wouldn't be able to sit up and lean over this computer.
I had a friend take one of my strongest, my buddy has extreme pin in his knees...he was a mess - too buzzed, and I wasn't remotely buzzed after two. 12 hour time release....
I never ever take more than prescribed.....

Dennis, sorry to hear that. At your level you definitely don't want to take more than prescribed or you are just going to earn yourself some serious addiction problems. An OC80 will definitely rock anyone who hasn't taken anything like that before, and I mean rock them.
No more pills for me

Spit, I can't recall disagreeing with anything that you have posted.....
As far as the Contins go, I started at 20s, 40s,, 60s, and now 80s...
The doc actually asked and implied he would give something stronger and I said no. Regardless of pain, I don't want anything stronger.
I'm close to going to gradually lower my pain amounts after my next back surgery. I'll see how it goes when I start running again afterwards. The doc freely says that on my regimin, I would be technically addicted, even though I never exceed the prescribed instructions.
He knows that I am really trying to get all these medical things done, but he said after a month of recuperating from the next back surgery,
.....I will plan on slowly taking the levels down slowly the same way as a diver doesn't come up to the surface too quickly and get the bends. Spit, it's going to be tough, but I'm just pissed that I can't run right now.
Doc said there absolutely nothing wrong with what I take, and how he sees that I'm not remotely buzzed from it indicates that I am where I should be in terms of managing the pin levels. It takes the bite off it the pain, but it's not quite enough to be quite honest.
As I weening slowly off, I think I will have to get some weed, and I also take prescription. There are a couple pills I'll take forever from the hideous concussion I suffered, I'm confident about my bnack doc. This orthopedist was referred to me be Dick Vitale's son in law who did my pinhcedjhg

Yes, pain is terrible. I have a very high pain tolerance but need them every so often because of hips and back. They (Loritab,Vicodin, Oxycodone, and other narcotics) are toxic to the liver, and will with prolonged use deaden the nerve ending around the ear drum causing hearing loss (Rush Limbaugh).
You just have to do what you need to do, but be aware of the potential risks.
I miss my Ibuprofin, 800 mg 3 times a day for 8 or so years really helped but my stomach and kidneys are paying for it now.

I used to get 180 Lortabs a month when i lived in the capital of pill mills Central fl.I'd take 6 at a time 6x 500mg of tylenol =3500mg of tylenol a pop.I've stopped now and constantly wonder if my liver is fucked up.I wish to god i never heard of pills.

ya, I probably fucked. The only thing I have going for me is the fact that I would eat all my pills in a week and have two weeks off before my next script. The liver is the only organ that can repair it's self.Time to get a blood test i guess.

I've finally gotten really good, now that I actually need them, and am not taking them for fun.....
......to take as prescribed. If you take what strength I have to, just to manage the pain without even feeling a buzz, you could only imagine what I would go through after a 2-3 week period.
Last year, My insurance between Cobra, and the policy I have now, left me without any insurance for April (about $875 for scripts, instead of $80 copay)......I couldn't afford May's scripts.......and I took tem too quick in April ....3 weeks without.....
Withdrawal not fun.
I never take anything anymore ever other than prescribed. Can't help thinking meds over the years could have attributed to GFs heart problems........she didn't take pain meds, that aren't unhealthy on any organ if managed properly,
.......but she was taking ambiens (scary fricking things) docs messing around with anti depressants for her (her husband died at 50, 2 yrs before meeting me ...sad), and thyroid meds....(those were just the ones I knew about. Don't know what she ever took before.
(didn't mean to be a downer bringing her passing up...sorry)

I feel for ya man, I have scolyosis, not bad enough for surgery but bad enough to hurt.I'm now on Norco 10/352, I take them as described and rarley catch a buzz. This summer I goit sick of taking them and took a month off. That month i realized that when taking the meds on time they actually do work.I had to get out of a "junkie" mind frame and get into a pain patient frame.
