Low cholesterol numbers do not always mean the person is healthy just as high numbers do not always mean the person isunhealthy. The total cholesterol number by itself is not too meaningful. The more important thing is the size of the particles and density of the particles which can be measured with a NMR or VAP test.

Sharp you always seem to have some good insight, with respect to diet and health. If you have time to Pm me, I would love to pick your brain on a couple of things.
I also owe you a thanks as it was in a previous posting, when talking about these cholesterol tests, that I brought this up with my doctor and he recognized that I was concerned about being on Statins and sent me to see a Lipid specialist. I had recently had an MRI and as I had no plaque build up and based on the fact that my bad cholesterol was only border line he took me off Lipitor, which I was quite grateful for.
