To make a long story short, I was told by my oncologist that he only reccomends one book/died/eating and it's called "Eat to Live" by Joel Furman. He told me if I followed the book I would lose the weight, likely come off of all medicine, damn near cure diabetes (insulin dependent) and benefit after benefits.
Since I have a 9 year old daughter and would like to live as long and healthy as I can for her I decided after years of failed diets to stick to this and not stop. I started with the 6 week Vegan eating and love it. It wasn't easy at the start, but after years of low carbing and every other sort of diet out there this one has proven itself to me and reccomend it to all.
After 5 weeks I'm down 24 lbs, insuling intake is in half, off of blood pressure medicine and couldn't feel better. I have a long way to go since I tipped the scale at 300 last visit (only 5'11) but this is the real deal for me and not stopping.
My daughter is proud of daddy, is learning alot about food choices and I can see and feel the difference already (for me I have to see results early). I love the veggies, fruit, flax seed, almond milk, almond cheese, etc. Not easy, but now its a way of life after retraining my brain.

i use coconut milk but almond milk is my second choice if i can't get it. coconut milk isn't sold at very many places. pumpkin seeds are solid. i eat a salad every day for lunch and it'll either have pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds on top.
i assume you're eating a lot of avocado. i don't fuck with tofu outside of ordering at asian restaurants but be careful what brand you buy. there's a lot of genetically modified soy products out there.
