I consider myself quite the home chef but chili is one thing I take the easy route one. Canned pintos and kidneys, chili mix, some of my own spices and seasoning, canned dices tomaters, canned tomater paste, ground beef(sometimes cubed steak).... I think that's about it. Serve over cornbread topped with jalapenos and tillamook extra very sharp cheddar. Chili is one of those foods where award winning and mediocre are in the same realm. It's not like smoking a brisket.
