There would be some improvements in upper body.  But few exercises produce limited development.   Generally, bodybuilders prefer a proper diet and a wide variety of  exercises for different muscles.

    Well you'd get endurance.

Weights and bodybuilding are cosmetic training and not necessarily for strength and fitness. A lot of bodybuilders aren't' realty fit.

Also if you do 1000 push ups and sit ups a day you're not going to grow a lot of muscle, the muscle grows while you're resting.

You might get really sick and will get very sore from putting yourself in a state of over training.

Some exercise is better than no exercise.  Bodybuilders are usually healthier than couch potatos.  Recreational bodybuilding is healthy but professional competition is not.  Bodybuilding is less dangerous than many sports such as football, mountain climbing, motocross, martial arts, cheerleading, etc.

Yes, absolutely, if you do them every other day, (pushups) if you continue to do 1000 push-ups per day you'll over train, deteriorate, and show no definition, muscles need rest to grow. as far as sit ups are concerned, go for it daily, you can never do enough crunches, and rest is not an issue, a washboard will appear within 6 weeks time. Over training is detrimental, and often overlooked, as is the mandatory intake of 48 grams of protein (daily) to build muscle mass, without it, you'll get nowhere

Dude is making an effort to get going. Congrats, you'll eventually want to step up to bigger things. Your reps are way too high, shock both muscle groups with different rep schemmes and angles. overtrained an non responsive for sure as coin said.  Rest the body with 2 on 1 off and you'll get primed up for some iron. Good luck man. - just my .02.

Muscles don't grow and build endurance when training, they grow and respond when resting.

    thanks, good reply

Good luck man. - just my .02.

Muscles don't grow and build endurance when training, they grow and respond when resting.

    good man this guy, thanks.

Hey isport, because of your sheer projected dedication, I am going to give you the best advice in your behalf. Do yourself a favor, get a copy of Herschel Walker's Basic Training by Herschel Walker 229 pages; readily available on Amazon, and all bookstores. a complete training manual focusing on non weight procedures, pushups, dips, crunches, wind spints, step climbing, pullups, routines, diet, and a when where why and how to train professionally, without the use of wieghts, or machines. this manual was adopted by the U.S. Navy SEALS in 1990 as the 'official' training manual, still in effect as of 2015; and has become the nucleus for the majority of NFL conditioning programs. excellent reading, a helpful tool in your quest "to get in shape"

Point here is isport, just start anything brother. Don't even think about it at all. A week from now you'll be addicted to working out and you're on your way to being large and in charge.

Btw...up downs or burpies are aesome. I do as many as I can in 60 seconds in front of a clock x 4 as finisher after weights.. your lungs will burn hard.
