Since tuna is such a great source of protein and is quite cheap.
My question Is...
IS eating a can a tuna a day really all that harmful? Yes i know eating to much fish can lead to mercury poisoning. But is it any worse for you than say drinking 1 pop a day or eating a bag of chips a day?
Basically I am wondering if eating a can of tuna a day will do more harm than good in the long run for my body??

Eating fish in moderation is best. Daily consumption is fine for fish low in mercury. Generally, small fish has less mercury. Pregnant women and young children are more vulnerable. Ask your physician or dietitian.

i wouldn't call it a moral objection, more like a health concern. if you follow information on food, you should have heard about some issues with canned tuna. here are a few articles that were at the top of a quick google search but if you want to go more in-depth, it should be easy to find plenty of info.
i wouldn't avoid it altogether but i wouldn't eat very much of it either.

Eating before bed making you fat is a myth.....................
In itself it's a myth, calories are calories, but it's really unnecessary and an easy way to cut calories. No reason to go to bed with a full tummy. If you're looking for a way to cut calories, skipping the late night meal is a good way to go.

If I die from eating wild salmon veggies and a tuna sandwich so be it. The fear mongering is over the top sometimes.
i'm not sure i'd call it fear mongering. it seems like every week you hear a story about some massive oil spill or chemical spill into the water. and i would guess the garbage that doesn't get reported is much more than what we hear about. from there, it doesn't seem like too much of a stretch to figure that the fish are being exposed to all this garbage and that if you eat a lot of fish, you get exposed as well.

Fact: There has never been a single case of mercury toxicity in this country attributed to the normal consumption of seafood.
I know a couple people like Club Dirt. You suggest a new health food product or idea or recipe to them like a can of tuna after working out, and then they go and find something on page 9 of a google search saying there might be something associated with mercury levels and won't eat it. Meanwhile, they are sitting there eating a frozen dinner made of 96 chemicals that cause cancer and are a war for your body to process.

i know some really stupid people who make idiotic analogies. now i know one more.
rather than page 9 of google, you could start at page one and see research and articles from sources like Scientific American, the Mayo Clinic, the EPA, the FDA, the Environmental Defense Fund, Consumer Reports and many other well known sources that discuss dangerous mercury levels in canned tuna.
