Mine is 248. My Triglicerides are high though (365), so I think that factors into the total number.
No more beer?
Doctor suggested fish oil gel caps 2,000mg's per day. I dunno.

When I was invited to co-author a book with Dr. Jonny Bowden—a leading nutritionist who knows my position on statin therapy and the over-treating of cholesterol numbers instead of people—I jumped at the opportunity to spread this message even wider. Our new book, The Great Cholesterol Myth was just released. In fact, some of you may have caught my interview about the book on The 700 Club . The airing helped more people become aware of what’s really important when it comes to heart health.
The hypothetical link between high levels of total cholesterol and heart disease has NEVER been proven. It’s a diagnosis conjured up to serve drug companies who want to sell cholesterol-lowering statin drugs.
Cholesterol levels are a poor predictor of heart attacks. Only about 50% of heart attack victims have high cholesterol levels, and 50% of people who have high cholesterol do not have heart disease.
Recent studies suggest statin drugs are associated with a higher risk of diabetes, which is a major risk factor for heart disease.
Dr. Bowden and I agree that while Big Pharmacies are busy raking in
over $31 billion annually by selling high-cholesterol drugs with
terrible side effects to unknowing victims, their success is putting the
American public’s health at risk.
Plus, all of this erroneous focus on high cholesterol is diverting research dollars away from the real cause of heart disease—inflammation.
Chronic inflammation is a major predictor of coronary artery disease.
Studies show elevated levels of CRP (inflammation) puts you at twice the
risk of dying from cardiovascular-related problems as those with high
cholesterol. Your doctor can order a CRP blood test, and while results
may vary by lab you generally want a reading below one.
Now it’s your turn: Has your doctor tested your inflammation levels?
Search, like with everything in life, its all about the dollars. Drug companies and food companies could care less about us, all they want to do is line their pockets.
Heres another little example. Drug companies sell aspirin. They stole this from mother nature. Instead of taking aspirin, you could be taking white willow bark from which aspirin comes from, but without the side effects. The list goes on and on.
drug companies and food companies must truly hate the internet, because all their BS lies can now so easily be exposed for all to see. If our own govt wasnt in bed with these pricks, they could help the population be healthy. More money in making people sick and then treating them, then there is in having all of us healthy.

Good info guys, thanks a lot for the input and tips. No way in hell will I take any bs medication. I eat healthy, train 6 days a week and positively can play 4 quarters of college football without a problem, and that's no garbage either.
Just frustrated with this number after 30 years of gym time.
Test me again in 30 days after no beer at all.

Lowering inflammation is slightly different from lowering cholesterol. More sleep, massage, yoga, soy milk and less stress lower inflammation.
Otherwise, lowering cholesterol and inflammation have ways in common. Eat more omega3 fats found in fish, walnuts, canola and olive oil. Limit trans and saturated fats. Eat more fruits, grains and vegetables. Exercise often and lose weight. Drink green tea.

Everybody learns in this thread I think - glad I opened it.
Cd, you really know your stuff, thanks for taking the time brother.
The cholesterol level for an average French male is between 250 and 275. A “dinosaur doctor” would say: “That’s not good!”
But, guess what? The French have the lowest incidence of heart problems in Western Europe, despite consuming foods that are high in fat and cholesterol. This certainly shows that total cholesterol is no danger.
ITS ALL ABOUT THE SUGAR

^ I'm very sorry to hear about your diabetes. The Pharms most definitely have a grip on all of us because most of us have no idea what's going on.. Your research has helped me - take comfort in that. Hope your're okay and again, thank you. I'll proceed with your help.
Please....keep me posted on how you're doing.... PM.
