Any F1 fans in this forum ?  The first race is this saturday night (sunday in melbourne).  I spend most of my time in the baseball area, and don't venture in here too often unless it's memorial day weekend.
 
I found F1 matchups to be a worthy investment last season, but i'm going to guess there might be others around here that know far more than me,  thus my post . . .

have dabbled a little bit, just don't care for the racing at all, the only 1 I watch it the one on Mem. day weekend.

Very unpredictable to start the season with the most changes in history. I follow F1 closely and think there will be lots of value in dogs early. Qualifying about to begin, should be interesting.

A virtual unknown team in Brawn GP Mercedes co-owned by entrepreneur and adventurer Richard Branson will sit 1,2 on the grid. McLaren and Ferrari far back and not looking strong at all. Jenson Button is P1 with Barrichello P2.

top 3 for Hamilton is sitting @ +1100 right now, what happend with him?

actually top 3 was +2500 @ the greek, i see he had to change gear boxes and is starting last, so that is why the odds are so high.

Hamilton at 100-1 to win and 25-1 Top 3 is tempting. His car was 3rd quickest after everyone ran 1 lap in Q1. Never finished another lap and just made Q2 in 15th before DQ. The Brawn GP Mercedes kicked everyones ass quite handily in every session, Hard to imagine them not winning but will take a shot at Massa +250 and Hamilton +2500 Top 3.

looks like the appeal on those new diffusers will be heard after next weekend's race in malaysia. just watched the aussie race last night.  agreed on wagering early, it will be very difficult. i like vettel this season, but come on, don't you have to avoid trouble when your tires are failing and your in line for points.  kubica was going to pass him one way or another, vettel had little chance of staying ahead of him.  don't you have to take a long view . . . my car can compete with the diffuser cars, and i've got mclaren and ferrari in my rear view mirror.  glad to see there are others who follow F1.
 
i wonder what Honda is thinking right about now.

Can't believe I missed Hamilton Top 3. They had him scored third for a few minutes after the race and then changed to 4th. Cost me a profit but the race was incredibly entertaining. The Brawn GP's won't be making as much noise in Malaysia.

Vettel will win a couple races this season for sure.

just watched the post-race coverage . . . barrichello said his diffuser was broken on the crash in the first turn after he nearly stalled on the start . . . braun may have a car for the long haul. . . we'll see.

clepto,  you got robbed . . . wtf, the FIA can't figure out that Trulli passed during a safety car period until two days after the race ?

maybe the F1 teams should boot eccelstone and bring paul taglibue out of retirement.

I basically was robbed of $250. They first scored Hamilton 3rd and changed it to Trulli minutes after the race. My book obviously didn't pay Hamilton Top 3 because I guarantee they would have took a nice hit on that. Later in the week they say Hamilton finished 3rd and then they strip him of third for misleading statements. Only in F1, call the cops, I was robbed.

Ferrari looked fast, Brawn not as dominant. My plays gained tons of value. It may rain for the race.

gotta like vettel in the rain, won at italy for the red bull "B" team.
massa stunk at silverstone last year, don't recall how he was at spa or italy
seems like hamilton and raikannen ran well at spa last year,
i think barichello got a rare podium finish for honda at silverstone last year.

vettel is an idiot, i just watched round two, if the young german completes another lap and he scores points, instead he's stuck with the force india guys . . . wtf, at least that may help in getting discounted prices on him moving forward.

I thought I went 0 for Malaysia on all my plays for a considerable amount of $$$. Couldn't believe I stayed up so late to watch half a race and lose my ass. Woke up in the morning and and all my plays were void. Only finished 57.14% of the race and at 5Dimes 60% of the race or more must be completed for wagers to have action. Had no idea about the rule but I wasn't complaining. F1 is upside down this season so I think I'll be going real conservative this week.

renault looks weak this week, alonso was already bitching about the tires . . . i don't want to bet vettel, i don't, i don't, but his car has run with the brawns until he screws the pooch late in the race.  mclaren added a diffuser this week, but hamilton didn't practice that well and the other finnsh guy has yet to complete a lap in a race.   of the three, i prefer vettel at 12-1, but hamilton did make up a ton of ground in round one after starting in P3, and all the BS is behind him now . . . 15-1 seems decent.  looking forward to qualifying . . . asian day races are good for us west coast folks.  grab a beer and enjoy the race.

They had a ruling in the F1 court of appeal making the diffuser's legal. Now McLaren and Ferrari are on the clock. Red Bull is the only team competitive without one. Brawn again this week but maybe Vettel. McLaren and Ferrari will catch up soon. Love this race time on the West Coast.

based on car performamce thus far . . . how do you not take vettel at +500 . . . .who offers better value in bahrain ?
