Aside from getting business, I will have no issues with that. How would one get into being a bookie. I have no idea how to set lines so cant exactly handicap this myself. Any ideas?
If you don't know how to be a bookie, then you don't know how. It's either you know how or you don't. If you don't, then do start. Too many wannabes out there, we don't need anymore wannabe bookies. I advise you not to start, it'll be a waste of your time. If you get hit up good by your clients and you can't pay up, you'll have no choice but to stiff them and you'll lose reputation. The worst part is plenty of people will hunt your ass down.

If the sports bettor vouches for the new client no money needs to be post however, if its a random guy who's asking around looking for a bookie who just moved to california. Then his going to post half his credit.. example post 5k you 10k credit. You have a settle date if you lose pay the runner on Tuesday if you win you get paid on Wednesday.
Most books only let you bet between 50 bucks up to 3k.. If you want to make higher bet you normally have to call your bookie for permission to bet higher on a certain game. He/she would normally accept if its a prime time game superbowl,march madness, mlb playoffs. ect.
That's my experience so far dealing with bookies.

As much as it pains me...I have to say its time for me to find a local as well. Been getting slowed paid as well as straight up robbed (Wagerweb/Betdon). As well as having my betting limits cut at another book. I need a local just to get over a 3rd of my normal action from previous years. I just cannot trust online books anymore (besides 5dimes)

im new here...but ive been viewing your posts edison. and just bcuz ppl dont know about pph doesnt make them dumber then you. maybe it makes him smarter. as you think pph is some holy grail for local bookies when its anything but. i think your just bitter about getting stiffed and you cant do anything about but make irrelevant posts on here about much to do about nothing

Gambling is bad with bookies. Unless you know what youre doing. Gamble within limits. Ive won 30 grand so yes you can win money. But there are many lost weeks 1 k 5 k 6 k its really not the answer to making money.

If they look for clients on Covers don't even bother with them.
Best way to get a bookie is thru a good referral and someone that has legit shit going on. I have been with the same guy for 5 + years and i never regret sending him new customers
