Bed-Ed did not respond in "goof faith" to initial actions by the DOJ and requests to stop taking wagers. Once the DOJ felt they had given the site enough time to respond and not receiving anything contructive from owners and top-end management, they felt the only thing they could do to get their full attention was something very drastic. LOCK DOWN THE SITE AND ALL LINKED BANK ACCOUNTS IMMEDIATELY.
Now that they have BetEd's attention, they will just make an example of them as a warning to other site operators to make sure they immediately stop accepting deposits, wagers, and activity from US players.
(Lou and other covers guys, you can check on this story with your connections. You will find mostly all of this is 100% TRUE)
The DOJ does not issue empty threats folks. Even though I'm Cdn, I know this for a fact. When they come knocking, you may as well answer cause you can rest assurred that they are fully prepared to take the ENTIRE HOUSE down.
I can pretty much say that all BetEd did was "Attempt" to avoid the DOJ and try to open other bank accounts, websites etc to keep the business running. Once the DOJ realized this was their plan, they IMMEDIATELY froze all bank accounts and affiliated websites.
FACT: BetEd was simply just not as prepared for something like this as other books and poker sites are. They were NOT deserving of the #1 spot on covers.
It will take prolly 7 days or less for all the management, owners etc to spend the remaining money that they have in their pockets, and then after about a week or so, they probably wont even have enough money left to buy a pack of smokes with.
Trust me after this next 7 days, these "execs" will not GIVE A FUCK about their "reputation" and will not do anything more to make sure ALL players get their money back. Trust me once they are broke and un-able to travel to most places, you'll never hear from them again.
I say the best chance players have to get their funds back are after a few months of DOJ going through all the BetEd records, player files, account info etc. They will know EVERYTHING. Especially about the "big players" and their balances.
As a cdn, I also use processors from sportsbooks to deposit and receive funds. For now I will be withdrawing ALL FUNDS while I know the jurisdiction for this is not gonna touch cdn players for now, the processors are still getting affected and could in fact hurt my chances of pulling out funds over the Summer if some of the actual processors go UNDER as well.
GOOD-LUCK ALL TO ALL US PLAYERS. GET YOUR MONEY BACK!!
