Covers still #1

Question

I have been checking out other book sites lately, mostly to see what they have been saying about BetED, Covers and the rumors which have no merit thus far. Covers by far offers has a lot more to offer in the world handicapping. You can pretty much get any stat you want when capping games, cool contests and just a lot more features. I think the response to the BetED raid was not handled properly but I hope and dont think it cost Covers many users. I have heard sometimes even bad publicity is a good thing, well, probably not in this case. I hope the $$$ Covers lost from this dosent impact the quality of the site and the contest prizes as well as a decline in future AD. money. It would suck if this site was like some of the other ones.

With that being said I would not trust their top 10 book list nor anybodys at this point. Its only a matter of time before the FEDS strike again and its not completely out of the question that they take a popular offshore gaming sites #1 ranked book just for that reason alone. Though if I had to guess I would say Bodog would be next. They do as much advertising in the US as any other book i have seen.

Let me tell you something about this site.... This site is by far the BEST in the handicapping industry. You would be surprised by how many places use the "COVERS" brand.

I dont see this whole BETED thing as a "blimish" by any means. If any of you guys understand business then you know what Im talking about. COVERS could charge for the product they put out but they DON'T. This whole BETED thing was a witch hunt in many ways (In my own opinion). I think the people who understand how a business works understand and the people who want someone to blame use a different thought process (again thats my own opinion). People who use BETED had a right to be upset but there is only so much you can say and do. If you took a step back and took in the whole thing then you would understand.

There is something else I will share with you guys. Us as mods/admin have a different forum we use to share ideas and many other things. Not one time did I see something to the fact of COVERS asking us to move threads or erase them. That says alot in my book. They stood front and center and took the heat. That says something about how and who runs the brand. If there was something to hide or keep secret then (IMO) we would of seen something to that fact so thats why I have been so out spoken on this. I will shoot it to you straight and I wouldn't have put my reputation on the line (what little rep I have...lol)

I know this shit has stung real bad to alot of users.. Ive been there so I can speak on that. I may not have lost the amount of what some of you have but I know the feeling in the "gut" and it will almost make you want to puke. But people who understand how companies are ran , see the bigger picture.

COVERS has not hidden from anyone and it shows by the NONSTOP answering of the same questions over and over again.

You&#x27;re super.I&#x27;m not going to go deep in this discussion, but I&#x27;m learning that I&#x27;m probably the wrong person to fight these battles.I&#x27;m not mentally equipped with the toolbox to completely ignore one argument and then use it to prove another point, as other people seem to be able to do freely. I feel the need to respond to every illogical point and respond to it, in case somebody else gets swayed by bad information.As you can imagine, I get worked up quite a bit watching politics on Fox News. It actually bothers me sometimes when I see that somebody got banned or had their post deleted, because I look at it as a missed chance to prove them wrong - even when I know that they are just shills or plants and there&#x27;s no way I will change their minds. In short, I&#x27;m a sucker.Mike, I hope that we never have to make people pay for the site, but I think this situation has revealed that our current advertising model is broken and we might have to find other ways to generate revenues.

covers has always offered the best handicapping info and stats.  I found this site shortly after getting internet at home in the mid 90&#x27;s.  The forum and the book review part of covers is no where close to the best, but its not nearly the worst either.  The RX and EOG have shilled for just as many lower echelon books, probably more.  SBR had Cascade "A-rated."  So it happens.

I think what Freedom is saying in "other ways to generate revenues"
means that at some point this will be a pay for play site. It will still be the best stat site around. Since I found Covers I spend about half the time on SAT/SUN mornings doing homework on my games.

&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Covers had a "little" ethics problem having a revenue sharing deal with a book and rating them number one without disclosing this relationship.  However, the stats, info etc are great.  Just dont take any of their recommendations without doing your own due diligence.

Covers is the first place I check for all my sportsbetting information nothing even comes close. If anyone can give me a better site for sports gambling please give it to me.
