i have a serious question for you sircho, not to be an @asshole... but the way you are posting, i have the feeling that if you had lost, and was "down" you would have some issues when it was your turn to pay your local... i'm just curious why you're waiting for your guy to pay your winnings for you to be able to pay for your wife's hospital bill? i just find that comment a bit odd. anyway, there are a lot of bookies who are very "magulang" but based on personal experience, there are by far, way more @sshole bettors and players than books. and to everything you guys have mentioned, at the end of the day, if some moron decides to run away from his debt, and the book can't cover the losses, that's the time for a domino effect. That's why it is always crucial to find a good local who can give you great odds, and is fair to deal with. I miss my betting days wherein my book gives me 2-3% commision for all the bets i throw in for the entire week. there were weeks that i made 40k pesos just from commision alone.
Good luck to all pinoy gamblers, just be careful not to bet what you can't pay for. always think of the repercussions of your actions. you guys are very lucky that you haven't really encountered books who break people's legs... i for one have seen it happen. don't let that happen to you.
