Can't bring myself to watch the video.
The track has to certainly pass inspections from the IOC and the Luge Governing Body before anyone can run on it. If this track is so dangerous, how did it pass inspection? It will be interesting to see what the organizers do know with this event.
P.S. Anyone that is suggesting padding....that dosen't work going 90mph into a steel pole.

What has happened today was people not doing there job its not just Canada's fault here because we wouldn't let other countries use the track. What happened today was tragic and if all the athletes were complaining then the track should have been shut down till they brought the speed down! The IOC has the final say they heard the complaints and the accidents the last 2 days. Why didn't they step in and fix the problem! Canada is the not the only one that should be lambasted!

I'm not saying it's their fault, but you do make some fair points. The IOC certainly deserves to be asked a few questions. It's also possible that this accident would have occurred at 80-85 miles per hour as well....we will never know. But when you, as a host country, restrict the training/practice time of the other countries to the bare minimum, people are going to think about that a bit when something like this happens.
Committee is denying all responsibility, kid's body is still warm and they are blaming him for the accident, though there were over 7 crashes there so far.
