I worked a 16 hour shift last nightt til midnight . While at work I was listening to the police scanner. The 4th is always a violent day in Chicago. Even downtown where people for some reason think they are safe. Packs of trouble makers from the bad areas walk around looking for trouble. Sometimes in groups of 50-100. I'm not over exaggerating. Every police officer is forced to work because of this. People are often beaten for no reason at all. Flash mob attacks. Last night had to have been the worst. After listening to the scanner, there was no possible way we could have had enough police to stop these thugs. There was a shooting downtown around after the fireworks. In a good area. I live in a good hood in River North. There were 50-100 people attacking people and causing trouble. Chicago is a shitt hole. Even the good areas can't dodge the violence.
