I actually dont have a problem of trying to keep people in their residences.
I think they should have to show proof that they LIVE in the house and then honestly maybe all some people need is a little help.

some people did the wrong things but I am sure that there is a good amount of them that just fell on some hard times

If you can pour money to all of these crooked wall st scumbags and all this other bullshit which doesnt actually help anyone the relatively small amount of this foreclosure bill is actually okay with me

Also, wars are not free.  Somebody has to pay for them but nobody wants to.  Meanwhile, China and Korea are seducing these same people with flat screens.

Speaking of spending............ if they dropped $100 dollar bills in airplanes over major cities.  That would be a stimulus.

Does it help to cry and complain that people are getting your tax dollars when they are the ones that screwed up? No If the government wasnt wasting money on this they would waste it on something else its not like the responible ones will ever get repaid . That's the way this country has been and always will be they give to the F-ups and ignore the responsible ones.

There will always be degenerates who are irresponsible and don't try.  I honestly don't think that many people who stand to benefit don't want to work.  We can argue that all day long, though.  I guess I have a little faith in the human race and I talk to people every day who would like nothing better then to work.

devils - the mortgage market is 15 Trillion...this 270b is nothing and will do nothing.

fwiw, im opposed to all of this..bank, auto, housing bailouts. my tax dollars shouldnt go to cover other people's investment that went bust

if obama is going to pay people's mortgages what about people who pay all their bills on time or ahead of time...like me and many others.

what incentive is there for me to pay my mortgage?

      Gentlemen, as a business owner, I can tell you that people DO NOT want to work. To work for me the ONLY requirements needed are show up on time and work diligently.....thats it.
 
       The one business I operate involves me driving 130 miles (260 round trip) a few nights (2am-6am) a week. I need someone to sit in the back of the cargo van and organize boxes and tie some papers up. For this, I offer $70 a night. The longest any one person has worked for me has been 3 weeks.
 
 
        Maybe I am way off base, but isn't that pay good for someone with no skills. Yet, I can't find someone who wants to do this.
      
 
         I'm not stressed about doing the work myself, instead of a 4 hour night now I put in 7 hours.....FBD.

KOAJ.. I am against all of it also but I guess I am in the "if you are going to give it these other idiots then I dont mind this one"

probably the wrong thought but in this instance where it can keep people in their homes and it wont make your house worth less if you try to sell it because the neighborhood wont be all foreclosed around you I support the idea

I think Bush started all of this crap with his bailouts and once someones hand is out, and you have Obama in office , everyones hand is out all of a sudden

As far as these spending and "rescue" packages, personally I'm not sure but one thing I AM sure about it is to think LARGER picture than what is going on here with who's getting food stamps.
 
That is so tiny it is so irrelevant...... and it DISTRACTS people from the real issues.
 
One thing I am absolutely positive on is that Republicans do not understand economics and they never have.  They prefer to beat up everybody on who gets the last pork chop but have no idea of "planning" their way out of it.
 
Republicans should not even be allowed to touch money.

On a side note, 2009 will be the first post WW2 year in which the WORLD has a negative GDP.
 
Meanwhile, the Republicans are bitching about welfare and food stamps.
 
Also, the cost of that F-22 is 350 million but the cost of maintaining that is probably incalculable.  Training, etc.

The GOP math is like a bad dream.......... It's like I was given a sales quota of $10 million and hit $20 million but they want to bitch about a $2,500 expense report.
 
They are closet accountants.
 
Where I come from, I don't care where the money goes but I pay close attention to where the money comes from.
 
The Republicans do not get that part.

The Republicans take this whole capitalism thing way to far.  It is one thing to have the opportunity to produce and advance but that is not for everybody.  Some people do really not give a squat about that.  They like their situation as it is.
 
The funny thing is that the obnoxious capitalists probably wouldn't last ten minutes in the streets of capitalism if it boiled down to that. 
 
Yes, I am an obnoxious capitalist but I do not stomp on people who are smaller or who do not care.  That is not right.
 
There is the whole concept of "Public Interest" which is lacking here also.

Not sure..... but I personally prefer the Dem economics to the GOP economics overrall.  Dem economics are typically more "pro growth"

I think these stimulus bills are embarassing though.  The interest payments alone on this shit will hamper us for a while.

On another side note.......... "Spending" is not a new concept.
 
"Previous" administrations have used military spending to support the economy.

Personally, I feel that OUR economics are a direct function of world trade policies AND military policies, if we can find a way to ditch that shit.

That's the part that gets to me.  All the bitching about stimulus and pork and the like.  Is it really that different then all of the ridiculus military spending?  These politicians sit there and vote for contracts in each others' states so others will vote for contracts in their home state.  I guess you maybe have a tank and a plane at the end of the day, but the amount of waste and blantantly irresponsible spending there is off the charts. 
 
Hate Obama all you want for this...I get the arguments.  But then don't bury your head in the sand when these types of things happen under republican watch and are just covered up under the guise of necessary military spending and the like. 
 
Rent the documentary "Why We Fight" if you want to understand the miltary industrial complex.....it will make you go

In fairness to the righties, most of them on covers were opposed to the wall street bailout as well (KOAJ, TIMBER, etc.).  Props go out for consistency.  You do raise a legit question for those who had differing opinions on this vs. the wall street bailout.  One might argue that wall street is our banking infrastructure and thus it is that much more important.  I'm not sure that flies though.

Bush and the repub controlled stuff is over. But the Dems and Dems backers are using this as an excuse for the pork and bullshit. It's the same stuff but some different faces in control.
 
It was horrible when were were dumping piles of cash in a Police Action.  Which is what it exactly is. But we are following it up with more cash burning.  I bitched about the tons of cash being spent that useless action and I will bitch about this useless spending.
 
It may not do any good but I burn up the e-mail and phones everyday about it. I'm sure all of my elected officals have my numbers blocked by now.  Love that *67
