Another shooting...a trap set for firefighters

On local news, it's believed man set house on fire then shot at firefighters as they arrived

that's brutal, imagine having to go put out a fire on christmas eve only to get shot at.  people are fuckin nuts.

I can't wait for the spin doctors at the NRA to tell us we need to arm our firefighters.  The only thing that can stop an arsonist with a gun is a fireman with a gun.

From the circumstances of this case I think it is more likely that the property owners had a meth lab which started on fire.  Once the firefighters came out to the blaze the tweekers shoot them.  The house was out in the country in upstate New York, kinda run down, basically a perfect set up for a meth lab.  Either way obviously pathetic when firefighters have no weapons of their own and just coming out to help people.

As opposed to the far-left that think preventing the firefighters from owning guns will protect them from criminals with guns.

What a joke of a country, You have pro gun wack jobs saying elementary schools need to have armed guards and now you get innocent firefighters shot on Christmas eve, Not everyone in America is bad but there's a lot of evil in that country and guns are helping that evil.

Oh and before the pro gun wack jobs try and have a pop at me, I'm off out so dont bother wasting your time.

On the local news that the shooter had done 17 years in relation to another death.

Very sad indeed and may they rest in peace. The gunman was shot dead also, so very well done to the police! Hope he rots in hell, scumbag.

This guy could not own a gun legally.  He got his illegally.  So Gun control would have done nothing to stop this

this guy killed his 92yr old grandmother ...with a hammer......and was let out of prison after 17 yrs bc he was somehow allowed a plea of manslaughter  (nice job DAs office)......the fact that he committed such a prior crime may have been an indicator he wasn't a good dude and likely would kill again....this one is on the judicial system

Not quite.  He died of a self inflicted gun shot to the head.

The guy set a trap and it's pretty obvious lives were going to be lost even if everyone who arrived on the scene was armed.  

Not sure if this is an "argument" for either "side."  Just something that is almost impossible to prevent no matter what.  

Like some have mentioned, this was a failure of the justice system. Would be interested to find out the specifics of the case involving the death of his grandma.

Derek’s father was a firefighter that got shot and killed trying to put out a fire at a drug house in a rundown area.
