Always wondered this as I assume most Americans get their licence after training on an automatic but does it restrict them from driving stick?

I drive a 2006 volvo s40 6speed manual and its great especially in the snow here in colorado you dont have near the controll in an auto as you do in a stick shift in the snow of course the AWD helps too
I did however own a late 90s mazda mx6 that was a 5sp but it had a hydraulic clutch that would only allow it to disengage at a certain (slow) rate and that took alot of the fun out of it
