I'd rather move to South or Central America.  Closer to the states and great food and great women.

I've been living in Taiwan for the past 2 years. It's a great country to live in. Great weather, beautiful women, safe and secure, good job opportunities, cheap rent and food, easy to travel all of southeast Asia for cheap. People love to say how amazing the US is but the truth is that once you step outside of it and see other cultures and ways of living you might just change your mind. Every day I read the US news and see the way people act and talk, it's disgusting.

These are all the same people that will never leave the country and refuse to believe that there aren't any other good places to live in the world. Pure ignorance.

    So true.

The USA is a great country, one of the best, but there's a lot of blinkered-vision from people who've never lived in another environment.

The level of crime in the US is atrocious compared to other countries. I was born in Australia and moved here for work, and it's always hilarious to me when gun lobbyists try to cite Australia as a more dangerous country because of the gun control back home. They try to cherry-pick and twist misleading stats because the main, actual stats prove the disparity.

There's a reason Australian schools have no metal detectors, and why passengers in taxis sit up front in the passenger seat next to the driver (no protective screens). There's a reason Aussie gas stations don't require payment upfront and don't need to keep their cashiers behind safety-glass booths.

I love the US, but y'all have nothing on Australia when it comes to healthcare and gun safety, and the only Americans I meet who DON'T remark on Australia's better healthcare/sager gun laws are Americans who've learned about Australia solely through Fox News op eds.

There's good and bad in all countries. Contrary to the belief of many here, the USA didn't manage to get everything 100% right.

*And before all you NRA fanboys start jumping on me here, no, I don't actually think the answer to gun crime is as simple as introducing the gun laws like back in Aus.

There's too many guns in the US now for those sort of laws to work.
Australia is simply a safer place live to and raise children as a result. No debate there, just fact. A fact accepted by every major research institute in the world, and contested solely by the NRA (who don't have a vested interest in gun sales at all?)

Again, there are good and bad aspects to living in any country.

And I have the opposite idea to live and work in the U.S.

My country has the best cars, the best beer and bread and one of the best health insurance systems and if you lost your job uncle sam pays you the bills for radio and tv + a flat. The american dream is also possible by collecting cans and bottles at festivals, thanks to our recyclingsystem.

As an investor who is placing bets in the major sports (US) I would not go to country with such a bad time zone difference. Trust me it is not healthy to stay up from 01.00 A.M. to 03.00 A.M.

I don't know much of the taxation system of the U.S., but I assume it is more capitalist friendly than dropping 25% of stock investments for example...

Recently went on holiday to Germany, It's incredible how beautiful that country is and how nice the people are, It gives off a real Connecticut/Minnesota type of vibe as well with the laid back feel to the area plus the women seem to be still living in the 30's so polite, Feminine and not to mention genuinely beautiful, Even the goth chicks over there were so polite and friendly, Here in England the nicest women are stll beeyatches.

As far as people on here citing crime in the US compared to Aus or other places.  It is misleading to mention that but not refer to the huge black population we have here that other countries don't.  Blacks commit an insanely disproportionate amount of these crimes all over the world, not just in the USA. This affects the safety index but some posters are referring to crime numbers in the USA like it's an American cultural or economic issue and not obviously a result of demographic differences.

And the women in England are ugly to boot.

Any pretty woman you see in England is not from there; they're visiting.  The only thing that they have going for them is their accents.

If you're a male with a British accent, you sound like a half a f@g.  Only worse accent for  a male is French

Why would anyone want to leave the USA?  So much opportunity.  No other country has more "rags to riches" success stories.  As long as you have a brain, you'll live comfortably.

I would never consider moving to Europe.  Women may be pretty outside of Britain, but you'll be paying a lot more in taxes and the unemployment rate is a disaster.  Particularly the PIGS nations.

God forbid if Germany, Denmark, Sweden and England withdrew from the EU.  That entire continent would be in shambles.

What would they do?  They'd cry to daddy.  USA, we need some help!

Brazilian women are a close runner-up to Colombia, but their cuisine has Colombia beat.

The best looking women in the world IMHO are Romanian.  Eastern Euro women can be real girl though

I agree Colombian chicks are hot but brown nipples aren't my favorite, I always liked bright pink headlights on my women.

SF, If you ask him to explain and you rebut his claim, I guarantee you that  he won't address it.

Detox has a strong debatable case with the Scandinavian countries he listed.
But really?  Singapore, UAE and Qatar .   You think living in any of these 3 nations is better than living in the USA?

I would love to hear your thought on this one Detox.  Lay off the drugs man.  They rot your brain.

By the way, Hong Kong is not a country.  It's a region part of the Peoples Republic of China.  So you're essentially saying that living in China is better than living in the USA.

    Socialist indeed!

Do us all a favor and defect immediately.

If you've convinced yourself and feel strong about it, I say go for it.  You're right, you only live once.

    Best of luck

Every country is different.  But overall - it is very difficult - if not impossible - to just "get a job" there as an American.  You have to be sponsored by a corporation.  So if you had a job here with a multinational - there would be no problem for you to work in their European office - but forget it if you think you are going to go apply for a job there.  Wont work.

That is just to work under an EU work permit.  Citizenship is much more difficult - and often involves learning the language at a proficiency close to a resident.  It is a multi-year process.

im thinking my best shot is maybe getting a work permit or visa for 3 months in a country and that would be a good starting point to hopefully build myself up. hopefully a way around it that i can stay much longer heading towards a citizenship. also gamble on the side, play pretty high stakes. hit like 70% in tennis and euroball believe it or not. tennis and denmark basketball both my specialties.
