I am heading to Vegas in a few weeks and would like to know how to not drop 500$ on cab fare while I am there.
I am from the sticks, so I have never used UBER, but hear it is a cost effective way to get around Vegas quickly. Anyone have input?

Thanks for the heads up...I read somewhere that they will not let UBER operate at the airport, but it has been awhile.
Staying off strip at the Rio for a few, Red Rock for a few and then Downtown for a couple....Can only do the strip in smaller doses these days....like a little value when I play, can't stand dropping 50 bucks on every little thing.
Any good input on happy hours, steakhouses, and places to get a little value are also much appreciated.

Thanks for taking time out, I appreciate the input.
Will take a look at the first one, not sure I can gut pizza at 110 degrees outside. Thanks again.

Do not kid yourself..... I will be on the lookout for Hollywood CG.
Probably not to taunt him though.....he has at least given me 3-4 hours of solid entertainment over the course of his 65k loss.....may comp him a burrito.

Whoa partner......didn't mean to strike a nerve.
I agree that Vegas isn't the place for cheap....it really is more of a mood thing with me. Don't mind paying for things at all, but my demeanor deteriorates when it is rip off after rip off after rip off...and I have had some brutal beats in Vegas cabs over the years. So I figured I would ask about Uber as a possible solution. That is all...
As for my travel package, Allegiant Air flies direct out of Missoula MT to Las Vegas....certain times of year it is damn near free to go there...when coupled with other comps I receive it makes for a fun time.
One more thing....I have been to Vegas 20+ times over the years, so don't EVER tell me to go hang out in North Vegas. That is just flat mean.

actually I was trying to inform you, not mislead you; as some posters have taken it on themselves to advise...however, I had no idea in your regards to your 20+ visits to LV; please disregard my commentary pertaining to NLV, yes it was mean to someone who knows the score, and has been here before..excuse me
enjoy your stay as usual, have fun, and may your return home bring heavy pockets

No worries at all.
I was kidding around about the North Vegas stuff....I figured you were throwing a few jabs at me. All in good fun.
Looking forward to the trip...the last time I was there was 2 years ago and had a great time with the wife...taking the wife and a few of her friends this time, so I am looking to actually get to play a bit more than in the past.
I will be there during the Olympics and was holding out hope I could bet on some rugby, swimming and hoops....not sure if there is anywhere in town that does the Olympics betting, so if not no biggie.
I like that 7-7 rugby though.....

Thanks for the shuttle info. It should come in handy.
Yeah, pizza is one of my favorites...but when you are 37, it can be tough to digest that much dough in dry 100+ heat. Need to stay light and spry...at least for a few days.
A man must know his limitations.
