I was not born in 194l. I would gladly thank any vet who fought in wwII. In Branson, Mo the first week of November they have veterans week to honor them. Thousand of them show up each year it is an amazing week. This country is is is bad shape as the older folks pass away and are being replaced by a lazy non-working generation. Just yesterday they passed 13 more months of unemployment benefits. What 37 months of benifits. Go get a job.

37 months is a long time but unemployment is chump change. It is not even enough to pay your bills. If someone is actually choosing to live on unemployment then that is their choice. I am for extending it because there are no jobs out there and I don't think you should make the 55 year old guy who lost his job and noone will hire him and unemployment is his only income right now. I don't think you should punish him because there is a 22 year old kid living with his parents collecting unemployment and choosing not to work. There are a lot of people that do want to work and can't find any and you shouldnt punish them because there are people that are choosing not to work.

That is really ironic. Iam 55. I lost my job about a year ago. I immediately started my own guinite pool business. After 1 year we are building more pools than anyone in the area. I went from selling pools for a large company to running my own business. It is a lot of work but really fun.

Well if its that easy then we should all just start our own businesses. Sounds pretty simple. I think you solved all of our problems.

Unfortunately that seems to be the motto of everyone in office. Everything is chump change, and we now have the sharpest decline in the US economy in the last 60 years due to the "we'll worry about it later" attitude.
There are always jobs to be had, it's just a matter of living within your means. The last thing ANYONE should do is sit in their home and sulk because they can't find work! LOOK HARDER! I know people's circumstances are all different, but there should be much tougher requirements in place for a person to qualify for unemployment.

It really is not that hard. Everything is subbed contracted it took about $10,000 to get started. Very little risk. Very little money. Which is good because I had cancer 4 years ago lost my insurance and all my money. I just kept going I had know choice.

To be honest I read 0 percent of this thread and knowing covers this thread thread probably took a turn for something else but I must agree with the thread title.
People in the Army, Navy, Marines dont deserve any special treatment. Just like cops dont deserve any special treatment. Its a job. Its a job they signed up for. Its a job they signed up for knowing the risks. Its a job they signed up for knowing the risks, knowing the pay, knowing the benefits. People sometimes see troops at the airport and get all teary-eyed. Why? THEY CHOSE TO BE THERE!!!!!!!!!!!! They put their pen on the paper and signed off. If a cop dies on the job i feel 0 sadness 0 anything. HE SIGNED UP TO BE A COP. WHEN HE was receiving free dental and free healthcare for his child it was ok, everything was great, but when he has to have surgery to remove a bullet from his back Im supposed to feel bad? Please. Same thing with the troops. Im sorry if I sound a little uncaring, but this is my opinion. This thread is probably about taco bell by now but Im in a disagreeing mood.
