Much respect for your hard work...
I tried and FAILED at roofing when I was 16 and then again at 30 when my buddy's roofing company was desperate for extra hands....
Barely made it through 1 week both times

Crazy old Canuck, eh? They are usually roofers or hung drywall depending on the weather. My Mom's family was Canadian French. She was the oldest of 12 kids. What a bunch of screwballs. Argue and fight from sunup until dinner. Then everything was fine again. So don't even bother arguing with a French boss. Just "yessir" him all day, keep the job moving, pick up your paycheck, then repeat. Sure you figured that out by now.
My Canuck Grandfather drove booze out of Montreal during Prohibition. Money was just so crazy E-Z. The border checkpoint was just a tiny little 2 man building and only on the main roads. No customs, no passport for Canada. None of all that BS back in the day. So no roofing or drywall for him. Ran the booze from Montreal to Pittsfield, MA. Eventually moved his family down to Pittsfield.
But I digress.

Guess I shine up on a roof,
Stripping clean up lug shingles is the easy part.
The boss does everything else.
Start putting up the money for winter season.

Good hard day. Tommorow done stripping the old shingles should have it completely prepped for the new shingles.
Boom truck coming Wednesday.
Weds afternoon supposed to rain should have this cape done. Next job is next door.
Residential construction nothing like it.
Had a laugh guy comes by and eyes the bosses truck and states " you must make a profit"
, boss comes right back
. " I've been doing this for 50 years if I didn't make money I be doing something else. "

Amen nature. Tough work.. I’ve been an ironworker since 2006; two years of unemployment during that stance 2010 I think and during pandemic ... sometimes I wish work was easier

I seriously don't work a day in my life I love what I do.... I am living the dream. Didn't need unemployment ever , have a temp service in the week up here in New England, complete staffing and labor keeps me in work during the winter, but once spring hits
I got a few great guys through out the state that can use my talent.... 10 weeks of summer and come September 10 months to get there again.
Way life us up home.
