Coronavirus confirmed in Los Angeles

Six counties, totaling around 7 million people, under a mandatory "shelter in place" order as of today.

San Francisco, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Marin, Contra Costa, and Alameda. Misdemeanor charges possible for violations. All non-essential businesses to stay closed. Essential businesses defined as grocery stores, banking, hardware stores, gas stations, healthcare facilities, etc (but this effectively shuts down all gun stores, for example). Non-essential travel prohibited. You are expressly permitted to walk your dog or take a nature hike, but you can't congregate with other people when doing so. "Bugging out" to to another residence appears to be permitted as "travel to or return from a place of residence outside the jurisdiction".

On another note, I went firearm shopping for either a Glock 45 or a CZ P10C.  My god it was worse than looking for toilet paper.  First place, a line mostly for ammo that was at least an hour long.  Second place, no line, but no inventory either, empty shelves.  Third place, got the last parking spot at the facility, in/out in 10 minutes. They didn't have the Glock, but had the CZ, filled out a background check form and need to wait 2-3 days for it to process, then I can head back, wait in line and pay for it.  I am still on the fence, but have a few days to sort my thoughts.

I wanted to go out for a Ruger 57 but said fork it. Still want one. Seems like a nifty range pistol and it's cheaper than the FN. Not my first choice for personal protection but seems great for the range.

Yep, just watched a video today, 80% of the cases have been spread by asymptomatic carriers.

Jeez, there's no way we are going to flatten the curve.

1 in 4 that test positive (25%) in nyc need to be hospitalized, of those 44% need ventilators.  We are going to run out of ventilators fast.

Oh and we passed France on the leaderboard for deaths, Italy is about to surpass China 

I think China just stopped tracking deaths, saw a recent video of what is going on there and it looks like the apocalypse.

We know they are run by a corrupt CCP that has lied in the past.  There has been pretty much silence from them the past few weeks about confirmed cases and deaths.  WorldOMeter has their deaths at 3200 which seems low for having +80k confirmed cases.  Both of these figures raises eyebrows with some speculating the real numbers are 10x to 20x higher, we definitely cannot take them at face value and we need to understand the truth to properly forecast cases/deaths for the rest of the world.

Someone tried to dig deeper looking at the data, looking at active cell phone subscribers.  DYODD but what they are reporting are over 7 million missing accounts (unpaid) which is very curious. Where did they go?  In China your phone is your livelihood, people would take out loans to make sure their phone bills were paid.  

Throw this in with the other conspiracy theories or give it a little weight until the truth shakes out.  China has also kicked out all foreign journalists from their country.

I was actually feeling a little at ease, optimistic for the U.S.'s chances since the (reported) death toll in China was so low compared to their population,  0.0054%  of Hubei's population died according to the reported numbers.  Based on the contagion rate (50-60%), hospitalization rate (anywhere from 12-24%), and CFR (mortality rate) of 2-3% (only under expert care, once people are turned away from hospitals this jumps to 8-10%) their reported numbers do not add up, no where near what the math states.

DP...math doesnt lie, #s and stats are not racist, biggoted, homophobic, etc...they are what they are...and China's #s will never add up as long as they are being calculated by the same govt who tried desparately to cover this entire outbreak up from the very beginning.

But even more than Toronto, google Markham Ontario...thats their official santuary city. Markham is more well known to Chinese mainland population as their dream city in Canada moreover than Toronto or Vancouver is...its essentially 95% Chinese and a fraction of the housing costs...watch out if you find yourself driving anywhere near Markham, their accident rate is 5x it is anywhere else in Canada

I haven't looked at the trajectory, but did read at least one person predicting in 2 weeks, 2MM positive cases in NY State alone.

I've been discussing a theory with friends and workers for a few days now. There's got to be a connection with Italy and New York.

Is it because there are a lot of Italians in NY? The Italian community is clearly doing something wrong. As a people, they are huggers, kissers(even with men It's traditional to shake hands and kiss both cheeks). At dinner the pasta bowl goes around the table and everyone digs in. Stuff like that, they are close people in nature.

Is there any validity to thoughts like this?
