Most organizations are scams and will leave you in worse condition than you are now.... be very careful this industry is mostly sharks because they know they are dealing with desperate people.

He's right. Like I said, you need to do your due diligence and research. There are scumbags out there that will take advantage of you. If you're in a vulnerable financial situation some people prey on it.
Good luck my friend

First call up your card companies and ask if they have any assistance program. If you just lost your job then you might even have unemployment insurance on your card that you're billed. If you didnt lose your job, and the next is a question you would want to chose. Do you want to pay off the debt and keep the card to use again? or do you want it closed and the debt gotten rid of? If you can afford to have it closed and not use it again, meaning the debt your payoff that becomes available to use again, if you want it closed then these credit card companies have Balance liquidation programs. Which means instead of them charging you 22% or more they'll charge you 12% or something. They will close the card and have you pay off the remaining balance in a certain amount of time. You'll eat away at the principle balance this way and will pay off quicker. Worth a shot to call up your card company instead of avoiding them.

10K is NOT that large of a debt. Just because you are on disability, does not mean you have no employable skills. Earn some cash on the side, and use this money to aggressively attack this debt.

And as odd as it sounds, it is highly likely that NO credit card company, or debt consolidation company is is going to be of ANY help. They will just make your situation worse. Just work an odd job or two for short while, till you get them paid off.

Sorry to hear that horse. A lot of credit card companies will give you a 30 day grace period, or even better offer credit protection and a lengthy grace period when things go hell. Based upon your situation I would contact them. They require a simple form from your disability office.
Each month you mail it in (the form) and you're ok until something good happens...and it will.
Hang in there.

"For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26"Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?27"And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?…

What a low life you are. What do you mean hoping to settle as low as possible? You made the debts, pay it off, all of it, you low life!
