I honestly thought that Cruz had a chance against Hillary as a symbol of constitutionalism and conservatism. But the GOP based displayed to the entire world that they neither comprehend either concept and instead would chase the shiny object to no end.
But I guess when the collective minds of the GOP have become rotten with years of Fox News and angry emotional talking heads since the beginning of the mellenium on they were vulnerable to being completely trolled by trump.
I actually think tho that had trump not run that Cruz might not have won the nomination anyways because he would be the outsider with an u likable personality and kasich, Rubio and maybe even Christie would have been able to sell themselves as more likable and people that America could anchor to.
But I also think with the distain that GOP majority seems to have for its own party and track record during this century, perhaps Cruz would have represented change as tea party guy. So he might have had a chance that way.
But at this point that's neither here nor there. The GOP party was completely destroyed by trump and trump also obliterated every prominent GOP person that stood in his way or made them to look a fool with no integrity by backing him. Like that they lack a belief in conservative principles and instead would "sell out" for personal gain like Christie did or like former GOP front runner Ben Carson did. I mean who could have predicted that Carson would be a total "sell out" lol
Trump took on Fox News, he had the angry emotional talking heads in disarray not knowing what to do or say. He displayed to the entire world how the GOP base thinks and makes decisions. And left the whole party in shambles.
5/4/16 is the day that conservatism officially died.
And for people like me that do not want Hillary, trump is neither a good alternative or a good source of competition.

Ok that's better.

Did it ever occur to you the POTUS shouldn't be decided by what pandered to minorities vote for?
Or even that they might be better of with Trump instead of a corrupt, pandering, career politician? I swear you libs are like some bimbo with a credit card, wondering how charging for the things she wants can be bad yet having no comprehension of interest rates and credit scores, or even that a bill will come later.
Who told you to believe this?
Rush? Hannity? Or other angry emotional talking head?
It's not something I was told, it's logic. Why do we have elections? So a majority can decide, the theory being it is better to go by what the majority wants than to be under the rule of a King or Tyrant.
Let me give you an example of the problem with minorities characterized by basically unwavering voting solidarity:
Let's say there is a class of 50 students. Whenever the class president is elected, 20 usually vote for a candidate who is more for student extracurricular activities, and 20 usually vote for a candidate who is more for educational improvements and funding. Year to year depending on the candidates this varies by around 5 students, maybe 25/15 or 18/22 etc.
Then every year you have 10 girls who no matter what, vote for the best looking candidate. It totally undermines the process and fails to effectively represent the majority. It always comes down to the best looking candidate, which is not part of the office.
Being the president for example is an office representing all Americans, not a specific race of them. When everyone else is deciding to vote based on issues, but then blacks decide the election by voting for whatever party and that party's candidate mentions them and their "plight" the most, then there is a flaw in the system.

It's not the demographic pandered to, it's the demographic trump went out of his way to alienate in favor of the white vote.
He didn't alienate anyone in favor of the white vote. He has minority strategists and campaign managers. He is against illegal immigration and at this time Muslim immigration. Never that I'm aware of did he say something like, "I plan on representing the concerns of white americans." I'll tell you what though, blacks and hispanics have been mentioned plenty, with the bleeding heart pandering so many other politicians have down pat.
So it seems to me Trump not pandering as much to minorities seems to you like pandering to whites, even though I have yet to here him mention "white america" and their concerns.

but I'm sure his campaign strategists are working non-stop o plans on how to get their extremely important votes....
I'm sure he's "working up deals" to get their loyal support..especially on the non-Muslim ILLEGAL immigrants...
Trump ain't stupid...he's just late to the game and I'm sure he's a fast learner..he'll learn to DRUM Hillary at her own game
