Agreed. There is no easy answer. I hate to think that our schools should be patrolled like a prison, but no parent should send their child to school and find out they got killed later that day. 

I'm a former NRA member who now sees that the rampant proliferation of semi automatic weapons is a disaster. They really have no use other than to satisfy some loser's desire to kill people.

As far as hunters go, if you can't can't take that deer down with one shot before reloading, then you're not a good shot.

I also think "make believe" massacres in movies and video games have a part in this current mentality of numbness towards human lives. 

20 years ago a promotional ad for Oxycontin claimed that less than 1% of people would become addicted to the opioid. 20 years later we know that 30% of those given an initial 30 day dose will become addicted and the number only goes up the longer it is prescribed.

There is no solution but sadly I think schools in America are going to start looking like state prisons. Many already do.

The security dude at a school would be the 1st one shot and assume he does engage in a gun fight with a premeditated well armed killer imagine the collateral. Deep six that idea. 

AR's firstly are NOT assault rifles by definition, let's get our terms in order. An assualt rifle is a fully automatic rifle with a selctor switch, semi 3-5 round burst or full auto. That is the dfefinition. Ar's are semi automatic high capacity mag rifles that do not fire in full auto mode. Unless you call the ATF and ask them to fukin send you a bumpfire stock for 30 bucks (which the dumfuks will because they legalized them which helped our vegas buddy spray the sh!t out of an entire crowd with a bigtime kill ratio), then not going to happen. Having possession of an "assault" rifle requires a class 3 license issued by the ATF and Doj. Don't even think about trying to get one unless you have boatloads of money and patience and absolutely spotless background. Again, AR -15's are NOT defined as assault rifles because they are not full auto military weapons. If you showed up in Kabul with an AR-15 you would be out gunned and dead inside of a minute.

AR's are nasty rifles. They look, fire and perform very similar to let's say a military ASSAULT rifle. In fact they have all of the internal and external mechanisms that but that will exceed the platform of an assault rifle. However they will not fire in full or burst selection. The furinture you can put on an AR15 is unbelievable. I won't go into that but let's just say if you have the money, you can create one seriously intense killing machine. The one that this puke used was a SW M&P AR. Pretty much a starter AR for around 800 bucks. Good enough for his crazy mind to kill a lot of people. For 800.00 dollars, he bought himself an identity, a machine that empowered him, a weapon that gave him a god complex.......

........and in the hands of a tennager is one HELL of responsibility. We are talking about 4 points of contact when firing a rifle, that what makes them wicked accurate compared to a handgun which pretty much has 2 tops, and even one. Accurate, low recoil, NASTY 5.56 or 223 round? Forget it, you're dying if that hits you in the arm because the round spins all over your tissues at a low impact velocity...bullistics are scary to even get into.

Point of all of this is that as much as I love the AR-15 platform, there is no Fing way these belong in the hands of a god dam 18 year old. NO EFFFFING way on earth! I don't give a flying rat's arse if you have flip the entire 2nd amendment, get it done. While you're at it teenagers are not buying ANYTHING semi auto. You can wait until age 21, which also prob impossible but I'll settle with this. 

30 years old you can buy an AR. 30 years old you can buy a semi auto.. meantime go get a ..22 bolt action rifle.

Agree. Sick as it gets. Has to be a certain profile...these youngsters are preying on the weakest... glad they caught this guy alive and now have a close examination into the minds of them... hopefully some insight as to when/why/how they strike next.

Making a semi into full auto is simplest procedure imaginable. Hell fire triggers they are placed in trigger eye you press the button and the piston hits the trigger at a rate of five to 50 rounds per second. This and a drum clip capable of holding 100 rounds is a terror in the hands of a killer.
