Shit, go to a nice dinner with the wife or girlfriend and have 2 glasses of wine...god forbid you get pulled over. You might be subject to a DUI, can't even go enjoy yourself without living/driving in fear. It is fucking ridiculous.

Had a friend who was charged with a DUI just walking to his car with his keys in his hand.
A cop tried to charge me once stating I was not parked properly in a parking spot.
Most cops are mental midgets who couldn't get other jobs.
Yeah the one guy at the course I just took said he was warming up his car in -40 and the cops came up to bust the house party he was at and made him blow even though he wasn't in it, still lost his license.

I've been lucky & have avoided getting rung up but I know many who have. All the stuff you guys are describing sounds very familiar.
Cops will go to any length to pull you over for the dwi too. I had to work last Thurs. night........me & another guy. We got done around 3am. He tells me a cop started tailing him on the way home & eventually pulled him over to tell him his tabs are expired even though they say "9/12" on them. He told the cop he was aware & that he was getting them soon. In this state your license tabs may look good to the end of the month but actually expire on a certain day before the end of the month. This cop was gracious enough not to write him a ticket but I think you can read between the lines.

One of the things I learned in the alcohol classes I had to take is that if you are drunk and in the vicinity of your car with your keys they can and will bust you.
There were several people in my classes who were not in the car that were busted because they were near it and had the keys in their possession.
Also watch out for prescription drugs, they said there was a huge rise in DUI while on prescribed medication.

Wow Salty... that's horrible. For the life of me I never could understand how they can charge a person with "driving under the influence" when you're not driving. And yeah I know their reason for it but the fact of the matter is that SITTING in your car shouldn't be a crime. End of discussion.
I wonder if you're getting in your car and the cop pulls up but then you stop and don't enter the car. They'd probably find a way to nail you, and you'd get a DUI w/out even being in your car!

They can actually give you a DUI on the premise that you "had intentions" of driving. So you get arrested not for breaking a law, but because they THINK you were going to. Wow. This has to be in violation of the constitution. What if I pick up a steak knife during a BBQ. Can I get arrested for intent to commit murder?

Guilty until proven innocent overall is the theme of our court system.
Most cops are just revenue generators like little bitches and have the power to pencil whip anyone they so desire.
I am not going into too much detail but the average joe does not even realize the rights he has as a citizen. Cops are trained to ask you questions to get the scared individual to give up your rights. Of course in answering what most consider routine police questions are actually a set up to bypass the citizens rights and idiots answer them all the time hoping they are cooperating and will be let go.
My favorite is when they ask to search your car? If you say no they get pissy. But what I ask them first is why do you want to search? You pulled me over you said for not using my blinker as I changed lanes
But like many other things in this country that is out of whack. People still believe, of course those that have no real idea from experience on how the system really works, will say it is working.
If you have a crooked cop like I have dealt with a few times. You have to go through hell in court and you will always be pinned for something out of the 5 charges the officer was so kind to put checks in those charge boxes
My favorite line from a cop when pulled over and or getting arrested is... "Mr. Jones, I am trying to help you out here"
My arrest this year the officer had the balls to tell me that like several have told me before as they teed me up for failure in the court process by adding extra BS to sound good in the report to justify the charges he felt like giving.
If it is innocent until proven guilty........ why is it that if you do not agree to sign your ticket the officer just filled out......You get new charges and are arrested on the spot?
The officer gives you that crap line of by signing this it is not an admission of guilt, just a promise to appear on the court date on the back of the ticket.
But now you are guilty of whatever the officer checked and nobody that works in the court system will even attempt to help or believe you. Hell, most lawyers will just take your money to fight it and let the prosecution "cut you a deal" which is no deal of course because you have to pay out the ass again to court fines and probation.
I am going to stop here. I am getting pissed all over again.

Those kid bangers from the old Chris Hansen show "To Catch A Predator" used that defense a lot.
Always say they have not done anything! They just came to talk As they brought beer and condoms
The car can be completely turned off, but if you have access to keys ANYWHERE they will say you were about to bang that kid. Or drive in my case

This dude named Mick I know said he was eating at a Mexican restaurant. He had a beer and a shot and somebody hit his car in the parking lot... some drunk woman. He went out to see what was going on and he got cuffed.
The cop said that because he had his keys in his pocket, it showed intent to drive. He got a DUI after his parked car got hit by a drunk woman. He was at his table in the restaurant when it happened. He was never in his car.
He had a public defender. I don't understand how this system gets away with CRIMINAL ACTS such as these.

More dangerous. When I come up on someone who can't seem to stay between the lines, they are almost always on their cell phone or texting. I can see them a mile away. I identify a drunk driver maybe once a month. I see a moronic cell phone user 3 or 4 times in a DAY.
I pull over if I have to text someone. I don't call anyone when I'm in my car. I put my cell right in front of me so I can hit the one button required to answer a call (so I don't have to fish for the phone). I also have "SYNC" which allows me to talk through my radio so I don't even have to hold the phone when I'm talking to someone.
Cell phones suck.

The texting and driving is close to as dangerous.

People should be allowed to do as they please... Laws are just stupid and should all be repealed and that mean old nasty popo should all be fired...
FACT... NO ONE has ever drank and then drove and caused any kind of an accident... That is just government propaganda... DUI is just a huge government conspiracy to steal money from hard working sober US citizens...
FACT... If you believe that there ever in all the history of mankind ever been anyone injured because of alcohol you are either gullible and believe the government propaganda or you are part of the government conspiracy and should be hunted down and beaten to death...
FACT... Everyone knows how much to drink without being imparted and no one would ever get in a car and drive if they had drank too much... That is just a pure FACT...
