First trip to Key West

Greetings all,

Making my first trip down to KW the last week of September.

Mostly a boozefest with 2 other guys, obviously we plan on hitting Duval - but don't know where else to look.

We are also going to be fishing on one of the days we are down there, not sure with whom.

Any tips/advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

Make sure you don't leave your drink unattended. A buddy of mine was drugged and woke up the next day not knowing what happened for 3 hours. I always drink a beer from the bottle and take it with me to the head.
   I would hate to wake up with my boxers around my ankles in some seedy motel with Bruce!

Yep, driving down with a buddy of ours from FLL - in the middle of the day so hopefully were ok traffic wise.

Ill be sure to catch mallory square, thanks NFL.

 

I`ve been there 3-4 times and never have been able to find anything to do there but drink, eat seefood and wander around. No beach and the scuba diving is weak.

End of Duval on the Marina. Get a table upstairs where the white linen tables are and food the is..... outstanding.

I went to the airstrip nearby and flew out on a sea plane to the dry island in espanol, I think that`s the name of it. There`s a big old fort out there and you can wander around and get to know yourself. They pack your lunch and all that jazz and cut you loose once the airplane is tied up on the island.  Worth the money I thought.

kind of sleepy ,,duval and mallory sq.--eat & drink, thats it- drive down thru the keys makes the trip more enjoyable for certain

WTF? That's why people go to Key West.....to eat & drink.

You've got street performers down on Mallary Square & there's one dude that has a trained cat show. It's amazing what these cats do.

Sitting at an outide bar/cafe & people watch is a blast because almost anything goes down there. Stopping off at some of the smaller Keys on the way down is pretty cool & some great fishing available.

The beauty of KW is the laid back be yourself scene every1 wishes they could do back where they live...
