#s 1,2, 5, 6, 9 in the country in mens tennis. All in the quater finals of the NCAA championship.
That combined with their overall conference dominance (considering all teams not just the top few) in football, basketball, baseball, swimming, track and field, and hockey. Can we all agree that this conversation is finally put to rest?
That fellows is what we call check mate!!!!

For those that question the big 12s dominance in all things athletic I think it is time to step down a little.

Nicknamed the "Conference of Champions," the Pac-12 has won more NCAA National Team Championships than any other conference in history; the three schools with the most NCAA team championships belong to the Pac-12 (UCLA, Stanford, and USC, in that order)

I am talking about recent years. I am not concerned with historical numbers just the recent 3 or 4 years.
Big 12 is riding high.
Big 12 is no where near the Pac 12. It doesn't matter what time period you look at.
P12 won the most titles 49 out of the last 54 years and finished second the other 5 years. They won 10 titles last year (2013/2014) compared to 2 for the B12.

666les - they have 5 teams in the top 10 in NCAA mens tennis this year including #1 and #2. That is total sports dominance. It is insane.
Not to mention the best conference (top to bottom - not just one or 2 top teams) in football, basketball, baseball, and ice hockey year in and year out.

I thought you said a few years ago the College Football Championship should only consist of SEC teams since the rest of the country sux?
Canos - you must have me confused for another immensely cool, intelligent, funny, non-partisan, and handsome covers member (although other than me I do not think person exists).

In Lacrosse, 4 of the top 5 teams are from the ACC but that only makes them a little less g@y then your Big 12 tennis puffters.
You're obviously delusional if you think Big 12 has been the best conf in mens Football/Basketball the last 3-4 years.
Top to bottom they do have the best conference. I am not talking about conferences with 1 or 2 good teams and crap for the rest. I am talking about the full conference. Big 12 wins in all sports no matter how you try to slice it.

I played in the Big 12 back in the day......the big 12 north struggled in spring sports........big 12 south carried the day. Guys on our team used to buy Texas gear from the UC store when we were in Austin.
Some guys brawled over it on the plane ride home........nothing better than the burnt orange putting it in you on the diamond and having teammates wearing their gear home. Branding.
Never Make A Winner A Loser. Never.

Ok. So let's assume that bowl success is all that matters in terms of a successful conference season (flimsy but let's go with that).
You are only talking about football. The tennis dominance this year, 3 of 4 teams in the semis, alone more than overcomes those football numbers. And does so in spades.

Seeing that not all the power conferences participate in all the same sports (can't find lacrosse in Big12) and others obvious ones like no hockey in the SEC/Pac12/Big12....
What power conference leads in the titles of the major sports only? I'd say football, hoops, baseball are the major, followed by wrestling, golf, volleyball and track.
