Gambling is for losers

By definition, Im sorry to say. Ive been gambling for decades Ive had some great runs. You can win in the short term. Sometimes you can do no wrong.

What will kill you is the drinking, lack of bankroll management and self control, and the chasing.

Everyone loses. You cant beat the juice. Maybe theres a few people who are ahead but they will eventually fall on their face.

Gambling is backed by the devil himself. Just quit now and save your future. Try to have fun doing something else. You dont have to suffer and torture yourself anymore. 

Just forget about what youve done and start doing other things.

For me to quit. I need one major win then quit. Continuing to gamble after a major win is asking for a major loss. Walk away with a final win.

Well, yes. Winning money on gambling is not a long term project, of course.

I agree with the idea of moderation as a way of controlling some situations in life.

i have learned that for most people its about the rush of having money on the line. and it really doesnt matter if its $5   or $500.    u get the same rush so i might a as well bet $5 games. and save me some money

The problem with Gambling is that most people aren't gamblers but rather action junkies. Just have to have action. Probably 90% of this forum is going to make a guess on the KC NYG Monday night game tommorow just because they can't pass on it. Some will guess right and some will guess wrong but none will ever guess right 52.5% of the time.

But if you can pass on the guess games and truly wait for a good spot there are a lot of +EV plays that will come along. Last week, I  got -130 on a play that has at least an 80% shot of winning. You wait for these plays and pound the crap out of them. There are definitely 55-60% plays at -110. You have to have patience as well as money mgmt. In some ways, it's the same thing. True gambling is not about playing everything. True gambling is a grind. But remember, if you're too careful your whole life can become a fucking grind. Ask yourself, have you ever had a nice big chunk of cash in your pocket and still went a month without making a bet just because you didn't see anything you liked ? Or even a weekend ? Are you a +EV player or an action addict ?

 95%+ of the people here are action junkies.  They are basically flipping a coin, and sometimes they get lucky and other times they don't, but over the long term, they lose money.  But it doesn't really matter to them, because subconsciously they don't really care about making a profit.  That's why they randomly fade or tail posters in these forums, wagering on situations they don't even fully grasp or bother taking the time to understand.  I've never really understood their mindset - I just can't bring myself to risk anything unless I have an actual, definable edge or advantage.  I've been profitable for about 6 years now, and the most important thing I've learned as a "gambler" is that I make far more money on the bets I don't make, than the ones I do.

It's a devastating addicition.

Watched the Paul Merson documentary there the other night.  Seems to be rampant amongst a lot of his ex-Pros

Anyone who says gambling is for losers, and whatever negative bs adjective they want, should quit. They are without a doubt losing money, and not enjoying their time doing so. QUIT AND FIND SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU FUCKING HAPPY OR AT LEAST NOT MISERABLE. 

But saying that gambling is backed by the devils, or that it is rigged, or that it makes you empty and sad is bullshit. You can beat it. But it takes effort, discipline and hell, some brains also. And if you are able to beat it consistently, it actually offers a pretty "free of chains" lifestyle. You are the master of your schedule and time. Yo don´t need to be accountable to anyone but yourself.  You can be located anywhere you fucking want whenever you want and still generate your income. And if you have enjoyed and watched sports all your life, you are actually earning money for something you would do for free

Fuck the BS. If you are miserable and can´t beat it QUIT... FOR GOOD AND FOREVER. But don´t put sorry excuses to your failures and lack of commitment and discipline.

 I used to live around the corner from where The Flying Wallendas practiced in Sarasota FL. I still believe on that tragic day Carl Wallenda fell to his death he didnt take in consideration how big his balls grew over the years. He and his family were one of a kind.
