How about having kids or telling the world this is the person you love and cherish and want to be with for your entire life?
You can say what you want but when I meet one of my friends wives it is different then meeting a friends girlfriend.
It applies both ways, you meet a girls boyfriend if they are over 30 it means nothing. A spouse gets respect, and you want the person you love respected by the people in your life
