It all began like any other day in the life of the Candyman. By the way, guys have been asking me why they call me that. Truth is when I was a young lad growing up in the mean streets of Philadelphia I had to make a name for myself. One day this guy was trying to bully myself and my friends. We had just gone to the corner store and bought a ton of candy. He walked up to us and said.. " Gimme your candy" I wasn't scared at all but my friends were kind of afraid. I said, "Listen bud, we bought this candy, so its ours, you got it" The look on his freckled and acne Irish face was classic. He got real close, the close that means he wants to fight. He took the bag of candy from my tight grip and then smiled like he won something. Next thing he knew I grabbed the bag back with such force it startled him beyond belief. I said " get the f..ck out of here" I felt so tough... Well, he didn't listen.. he punched me right in the face. First time I ever was hit that way. I'm 10 years old, this guy was at least 19.. My friends saw that and ran away. There goes my support. I knew at an early age that you can't let others see you as weak or afraid. I came to my senses and got into beast mode. I was pretty big for 10 and could handle myself but this was a man, I looked him right in his fat face and said.. " How does it feel?" he said " how does what feel"... I said how does it feel to get your a..s kicked by the Candyman! I took care of him and sent his on his way. After that day, I was known as the Candyman, Anyway, back to my situation here in sunny California.. Today I met my Pamela at a park and we had a nice lunch. It felt different because so much time had passed these last 4 years. She told me over and over she loved me and missed me everyday. I was so excited to be with my wife again. I asked her if that meant she would come back home with me and we can be a family again. She couldn't answer, which between you and I was very strange. I guess time apart really does do a number on your heart and mind. I had to tell her about my long lost son Matthew. It was hard to call him that and explain to her all about Jennifer. Even though I met her way before Pamela. I called my son this afternoon. I can say I was very nervous but we had a nice talk and we're meeting tomorrow for dinner.
