I lost my best friend about a year and a half ago due to a freak accident. He had drank maybe 6 or 7 beers and he bumped his head pretty hard. Went to sleep later, and never woke up. He was 42.
This has completely changed my life. He lived like a rock star... always bangin' different chics, drinking beer like it was water. And the dude was always happy, greeting you with a big smile. Great dude. Teddy was his name. Anyways, before he died I would often say that he was smarter than all of us because he always has more fun. He was a landscaper. He worked, partied, worked out, drank, smoked the lettuce (never cigarettes), and watched ESPN and the NFL network. That's really all he did. And he was ALWAYS smiling and laughing and having a good time. He was like a vacation.
It seems like many of us get so wrapped up in life and responsibilities and material things that we can sometimes forget what really matters. And I think all us forget sometimes that we truly don't know what's gonna happen from one day to the next. My day might be tomorrow. Or sometime next year. Or maybe 30 years from now. Live life and worry about all the dumb shit later. Or never.
Just wanted to ramble I guess... gotta run though. Later dude.

You hit the nail on the head dude. He was happier than anyone I've ever known. And he certainly wasn't rich. But he didn't care. And I actually feel lucky to have known him, because he really did teach me how to be happy as corny as that may sound. But it's true. After seeing him go, all the petty shit I used to worry about, I laugh about now. I really do laugh about the stuff after realizing that I was actually worried about it!
Life is so short and so precious. I hated losing him, but him and his loss actually made me realize a lot. And as a result, thanks to him, I know not to sweat the small stuff and how important it is to live life and just have fun doing it like he did. When I was a lot younger I always wanted to someday be rich and own a Ferrari. Now, I know that with my fiancee, my family, and my many good friends that would do anything for me at the drop of a hat... I am rich.
I consider myself very lucky, and when I was browsing Salty's website, he seems like a dude that has many of the same feelings about life and he seems like the kind of dude that would be pretty easy to get along with. If I ever get out to Nevada Salty I'll have to look you up if you're up for a couple brewskies!
