cant really give advice on this matter as i dont consider that i know enuff details nor am familiar enuff with goings on in the past and the character of the people involved.....my guess is that your dad is just too compassionate for his own good and his kindness makes/made him susceptible.it is unfortunate that the best folk with the biggest hearts are open to the most hurt and manipulation at times but i suspect he wud have definitely continued to try to help these people after initially being shocked and angry of course.seems like the kind of dude that,the more trouble sumone was in the more likely he wud be to help them..........was there any prior indication of illegal activities by the girl??

anyhow,my question was how did these 2 mexican ladies respond when your father passed??were they at the funeral and was there genuine grief on their part??..just wondering about the true nature of that "relationship".

regardless of wat goes down you definitely have to distance yourself from both those people,you made it clear you have no bond or attatchment to them and clearly you cud be inviting a world of trouble by associating with them(or rather the types that they mite be around)...i wud personally with-hold(or give away to sumone else) the 10 grand but watever it is you have chosen you definitely need to cut ties,of that there is no doubt.

And I cried a lot.

Do I think it was genuine or were they crying because the money train came to an end.

I'd like to say they cried because the money train was coming to an end.
But I'd be lying to myself.
It was genuine and real.
They loved him
He was always there for them.
It even caused issues when they would get out of line with my family and my father wouldn't take sides.
But that's who he was.
Loyal to a fault.

man,that makes it kinda tough.....can see you are skeptical but obviously there was love both ways on the part of your dad and these 2.
have you actually conversed with them over the nature of her involvement??...obviously we all jump to conclusions and assume anyone doing this stuff is clearly a "bad egg"...but young people are stupid and naiive and can make horrible mistakes that are way out of character if put in a bad spot.
even if you never have anything to do with them it wud be nice to know the extent of their/her duplicity(if at all)....i know theres sum scum out there but after wat your dad did for them it seems like a blatant,horrible betrayal of his trust/generosity to use the car like that and do such a thing.

tough predicament i feel...more layers perhaps than wat may appear to be.

First off, my condolences on the demise of your father.
You can honor the last wishes of your father but also exercise judgment. If you feel that it ain't right then trust your instincts. To be sure, you can always seek legal advice.

So I talked to her earlier today
She claims she bought the fire hydrant because my dad told her she may need it.

My dad never told me 
never told my sister or any other relatives to buy a fire hydrant

I have 7 of them at my restaurant and that is because I have to by law.

Never in my car or my home.

I told her to stop bullshitting me

your lawyer needs to work out a deal 
so roll over on everyone.

her mom called me later
very upset that i told her that.

I said are you in on it?
why are you getting upset with me?
You think that bullsh*t defense of my grandpa told me to buy a fire hydrant is gonna cut it in court?

no answer
again I said I asked you a question
she said just dont talk to her about the case.

the kids gonna do time maybe serious time

why wouldnt you roll over on the people who got you in this mess?

She called you from lock-up?  and story was she just happened to buy a fire extinguisher from the local wallmart or whatever and it was full of coke?? Better defense would be well this 'grandpa' of mine bought this car for me and the extinguisher was already there...Had no clue it contained drugs.That could have flown with a decent lawyer?

Jeez cut this mother daughter act out asap

Nope, the old drugs aren't mine and have no idea about the contents of the extinguisher story will not fly - never does. 

If she was or is involved in any way with Cartels her rollover could be deadly for anybody that's related to her in Mexico. State side fish are much safer and more valuable to detectives. 

Other option is to own up to her mistake, fully cooperate with the DA and hope to get some leniency on sentencing. That would be a plea deal if she's has no priors. Light sentence and 3- 5 years probation.

....and if she's already lawyered up then their are no deals with law enforcement.

What do drug mules get paid?

her mom funded some type of phone account thing to where she can call without it being a collect call.

then I spoke with her mom and she was trying to tell me not to discuss the case as she fears that law enforcement may be listening in.

She is in on it

No doubt she is letting her kid take the full fall.

They will get their money when the house sells and clears probate.
After that I dont care what happens to them.

I will fulfill my dads wishes. I tried to help them out a little here and there. Not like the way my dad use to but just a little help.

truth is it would make me feel a little better
