The best thing is that you're only 25.Don't worry about being broke and forget the money you lost.It will take some time but at 25 you have plenty of it to work and save up some money again.Been there before when i was younger than you and 22 yrs later things are ok.You need to dedicate a couple of yrs of being tight,banking as much as u can and give up gambling too in that time.You'll be alright kid if u take my advice.Good luck.

I read your post and all I can say is I wish I had  a place in my town that takes bets and prints tickets out like vegas, if you win cash on spot.

Your story is as old as time. Use the shame. Shame yourself into stopping

I've been flat broke more than a couple times since I was 25..You're young, no worries about money you've already spent.

Take what you've lost, double it and I' ve known 25 yr olds who spent more than that on bottle service trying to impress  b i t c h e s.

We look like everyone else, but what makes us different is our defect. See, most gamblers, when they go to gamble, they go to win. When we go to gamble, we go to lose. Subconsciously. Me, I never feel better than when they're raking the chips away; not bringing them in. And everyone here knows what I'm talking about. Hell, even when we win it's just a matter of time before we give it all back. But when we lose, that's another story. When we lose, and I'm talking about the kind of loss that makes your fool pucker to the size of a decimal point - you know what I mean - You've just recreated the worst possible nightmare this side of malignant cancer, for the twentieth goddamn time; and you're standing there and you suddenly realise, Hey, I'm still... here. I'm still breathing. I'm still alive. Us lemons, we darn garbage up all the time on purpose. Because we constantly need to remind ourselves we're alive. Gambling's not your problem. It's this fucked up need to feel something. To convince yourself you exist. That's the problem.

First, I just want to apologize for my generation.  This thread serves as a microcosm of what the 21-28 year old age group in America's mentality is.

Pompous, overly cavalier, bullying with no physical back up, STUPID, bailed out by mommy and daddy and have NO WORK ETHIC WHAT SO EVER.

How do I know this?  Look at what this idiot says when he has a negative bank account and he's not, at the very least on Craigslist looking for a f**king job, but here complaining about how hard life has been on him because he's a lousy gambler.

So many of my friends are broke.  Most of them bet on sports too.  You see, they all had the same mentality as this OP.  Like the Kardashians, but without a sex tape to push them to stardom and riches, they will use gambling as their primary tool for wealth.  Instead of looking up to real men that worked their way into success and money by busting asss and sweating out long hours, they assume the reality tv star method is much more easier and effective.  "Well heck, all I have to do is win so and so many games a week and stay consistent and I'll never need a job again!!"

And sure you can blame parents.  My dad was a d**khead, but one that set me straight, yet my mom tried to baby me so it was a two street.  But if I needed money--from both sides--I had to sell my own assets i.e. tv, PS2, jerseys.  It sounds like this clown got the opposite treatment, saying his mom was handing out dime's to bail him out like it was advice in a fortune cookie.

But making atonement for your own idiotic life choices starts with yourself.  Mom won't bail you out in the real world.  Gambling isn't going to be your primary source of income.  Coasting through life as a part-time cavalier, world revolves around me, self-important assshole won't keep the lights and heat on eventually.

Personally I match up people like you with the dirt and the sticky chemical material that gets stuck in the ridges of my boot after 12 hours of work on a production rig.  I watched dopes like you come out to the oilfield and last MAYBE a week at a time until running back home.  All ages 28 or under.  I never had anything in common with the crews I worked for because they were all GROWN ASSS MEN!!  No 21-28 age could make it.  Most of them had a self-entitlement issue--just like you--and there was just no room for that.  You're kicking rocks.  End of story.  

But there is hope.  You can discover your man credentials still.  Every swinging dickk has one, and can eventually learn how to use it.  Get a job that actually makes you WORK- full time work.  Do your job right, do it with focus and don't be a half-asssing, complaining Kardashian like most our age.  Bet with money YOU HAVE.  Treat your mother like she's your bookie and you owe her a debt that should never be erased, because she was there for you the longest, she deserves all you can give her.  

Man the f**k up.  Rally around yourself and push yourself to the God damnn limit.  Start with yourself in an effort to make our generation look like more than the root cause to the end of the world.  And notice none of this says anything about sports betting???  You don't deserve the right to do this "hobby," until you have "hobby money" to bet.  Simple shitt. 

When you realize they don't hand out 2nd place trophies for losers, you might be in the first step to recovery.

Try taking up a new hobby like reading or smoking meth. Stay away from watching games and do something more fulfilling like doing charity work or becoming a shop lifter. You can beat this. Good luck dude

Most of this should be expired knowledge.  You can't keep telling people in their 20's that they are young still, no worries.  This is why America is the way it is.  We all get to take mulligans and flyers.  We get 8th place trophies and nice try's, and don't worry I'll take care of this.

Learn from your bad decisions sure, but don't imprint the idea that you're young, things get better and no worries.  That just grants idiot kids with no sense of judgement the entitlement to bet another 5K because eventually they'll get it back.  

And the guys giving examples of learning from bad decisions are the ones that got chased by books, f**ked up or in trouble they had to dig themselves out of.  Not mommy and dead grandma giving them more bailout money to blow!!!!

 You can start by getting some indepth counseling immediately, from reading some of your previous posts you are a walking time bomb on the verge of self destruction and possibly harm to others.

surprised only one GA suggestion in here. That really works for some degenerates might be worth a try. If I were you I'd come clean to your family and tell them you have a problem. Maybe a few month noles hiking/camping type thing in the middle of the wilderness will straighten you out. Just to clear your head and get away from all the distractions. Dont fool yourself into thinking you can ever gamble responsibly again or your life will once against spiral out of control. You'll endup broke, probably owe someone scary money, friendless, burned family bridges,mb dead. Take a few minutes and think to yourself what do I want to do with my life? You are capable of having a family, good job, and a happy life if you make the necessary changes and work hard. You are also clearly irresponsible with money. Get your income directly deposited into a trusted family members bank acct and let them handle your finances. They'll give you money for necessary expenditures and when you want to blow off some steam and have a good time /vacation. Good Luck
