Cocaine is a powerful nervous system stimulant.[68] Its effects can last from 15-30 minutes to an hour, depending upon the method of ingestion.[69]
Cocaine increases alertness, feelings of well-being and euphoria, energy and motor activity, feelings of competence and sexuality. Athletic performance may be enhanced. Anxiety, paranoia and restlessness are also frequent. With excessive dosage, tremors, convulsions and increased body temperature are observed.[68]
Health problems from the use of legal substances, particularly alcohol and tobacco, are greater than health problems from cocaine use. Occasional cocaine use does not typically lead to severe or even minor physical or social problems.[70][71]

my opinion....who cares he's a good manager...some people can handle drugs and still contribute to society in a positve way..i seen it too much as a get older....You call these responsible drug users...then there are the pieces of shit who cant handle it and abuse the drug....i doubt mr washington is an abuser and if he is then hes a responsible one.
i remember doing blow this past summer on a sunday morning before b2b softball games....I jacked 2 HR's to center on a pretty deep field....i NEVER hit homeruns and both times i knew they were gone.

Hell did you do that Uconn? I would go down on 3 lollypop beachball pitches straight dead center attempts on the longest ball ever hit.

I'm thinking you didn't see many Rangers games the last couple of years. Seriously, I remember being at games and everyone in the stands is saying Washington has got to be on drugs. Pitchers would be getting absolutely hammered in late innings and he would keep them in there until they surrendered the lead. He'd pinch hit for hitters that were on fire. He'd intentionally walk batters to get to better hitters. The Rangers have a ton of talent and have won a decent amount of games despite Washington's buffoonery. The guy is a joke. By the way, I'm a Rangers fan (misery).
I heard the new owner talking about this situation today on the radio. He was not the owner when this went down and he just found out about it. He doesn't sound as forgiving as the outgoing ownership. Washington can snort all the coke he wants as soon as they get a couple of games behind. They've got to good of a leader waiting in on the bench in Clint Hurdle.

Pray that you never work for me. If you so much as test positive for an unusually high doseage of hemmoroid cream you're GONE...No drugs, NONE, ZERO.....no excuses....I don't care.
I know I won't
I don't drive trucks

It is a little shocking how much support there is for coke.
Not as horrible as it's made out to be, and maybe a little coke here and there isn't bad in the short-term, but down the line it'll take a toll on your dopamine production -- whether you choose to admit it or not.
How do you know he wasn't smoking crack? He would have came up for coke.
So to all you "supporters," explain to me why it's OK to do a couple lines, but you smoke crack (a coke byproduct) and youre the scum of the earth.

our current prez did coke and lived on the streets of NYC for 2 years... maybe Babar will appoint him to head the ATF....
Obama > or < but actually = Bush
it would be funny if every prescription that people took from their doctors came with it a public publishing of exactly what drug you are on. Who would you rather be running your MLB team, a guy blowing lines, or some guy taking those pills that make you have diarrhea, depression, bloody stool, gout, anal itching, thoughts of suicide, severe stomach pains, vaginal rash,,,,,,,,,or what about the google of pain-killers LEGALLY distributed and consumed on this continent. Or the 30 million Americans on the strongest, most dangerous, least time tested, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (ssri's)
here's a better idea, throw the people using the illegal drugs in jail, that will make the world a better place
brainwashed lemmings

i assumed he was smoking crack, look at the guy
not a coke user. i think 95% of people that 'do coke' are actually sniffing 95% of something other then coke. very expensive, and horribly watered down drug

Wow, everyone cares way too much what professional athletes do during downtime. Who cares... Really who gives a shit if these guys do blow, weed, or steroids for that matter. The government should be the same way. If people want to destroy their lives, assuming they dont infringe on the rights of others, then let them do drugs!

barely saw any games up here as i have basic cable...very funny the fans ended being right about his drug usage.....i was kinda having fun with the thread....im aware of his poor decision making and hurdle probably is the correct move, but mayb washington will bond better with hamilton and it will lead to a stronger lineup
but there are plenty of functional, successful people who "party" you just dont hear about it....its another terrible thing for baseball and it does suck to see this as a fan.
Searchwarrant....i guess when i do this stuff sparingly i get all the beneficial properties of it when swinging the lumber

you guys don't know shit. Many large companies that require drug testing offer employee assistance programs to help employees out before firing. Now being a Pilot or truck driver is one thing. but pushing a pencil or managing a club is not hurting anyone so they will give you a one time pass.
Exactly.
My place suspends you a month no pay during which you have to go to rehab. Then for 5 years, you are subject to random drug tests anytime the company says. After 5 years, you get it wiped from your record.
As for Washington, my opinion is a bit torn. In one aspect, being the manager of such of big team I think you have a responsibility to do the right thing. Getting busted for coke is embarrassing to the organization, to yourself, to the players who play for you, and the kids who watch the team. With that said, I also DO NOT believe in this person PC world that has taken over the last decade in this country. Where the owners shake in their boots and do whatever they THINK is the right thing to do(according to the media or their sponsers or public pressure). Sit down with Washington. Look the old fuck in the eyes and have a conversation. If you gauge that the man is cocky about it and most likely a regular user, give him the ax. If he comes off GENUINELY upset and sorry about a one time thing, then maybe you give him a pass.
