It's hard to keep it going. You turn dead inside but tell yourself that's life. I'm at at point where nothing matters. That is good and bad. I wont go into that. I've been on a two month shenanigans stretch that in a blur and wont even mention the $ amount go through my hands. Sickening but that's what I consider normal. Bit'ches, drugs, gambling, and what society considers destructive degenerate behavior for a 33 year old man is all I know. And doubt I will change. All I can say is when you get caught up and slip in the life you will see. I thought golf was the greatest till I made it my life. Then I realized a game I loved was also my downfall to me splitting focus with banging out of town strange and boozing late nights. You will see the ride I'm talking about and the lows are low due to reliving losses. Also say goodbye to the wife you say u have! Lol. I give it less than 6 months before emotions get ya. I've been at it since 2004 and have ice in my veins and don't give a f'ck about anything. A

The 1-3 is a regular game during the week, During the weekend it is a great game to play in especially at night. Sometimes the 1-3 does not go during the week.
The 1-1 game during the weekends is like stealing, so many drunks and lose players.
Atlantic city poker comes down to game selection - youo can make decent money if you are in a good game, if you are not, you will likely break even or make very little for a 6 hour session.
The economy hit AC hard along with other things, so you find yourself playing with unemployed people who are pretty smart or dealers who have been dealing for years and years.
Also I cant even tell you how many ex wall street guys tried the gambling thing after they were laid off especially playing poker.
The best game on the weekends for low limits is REVEL, because of the young drunks and out of towners. They are all willing to lose...Just my opinion.
Borgata is a hard room to win at especailly at 2-5 or higher. You are pretty much playing against semi pros with lots of poker experience.

Wake. You forgot about the two jokers they use in the deck for poker. Problem with casino joker poker is I never catch the joker. It sucks when I get on a slump and I go all in. As soon as they "call", they flip a pocket pair of jokers! Those 4 seconds between the turn, flop, river feel like an eternity as you watch Mola Ram pull your heart out and show it to you like The Temple Of Doom. Or at least that's what I feel sometime real time when a Guy insta calls with ace high!.lol

Yeah dude, WTF....are you seriously trying to succeed at this and "live your dream"? How in the world can you think it's a good idea to be boozing heavily at the same time as you are gambling and trying to make a living at it? Why don't you gamble and then when you are done for the day go get hammered AFTER. You are breaking one of the most basic rules that even total NEWBIES know, never gamble and drink man, especially to the point where you are drunk.
"1 is too many and 100 is never enough"----I'm pretty sure that might be a sign of a problem with alcohol my friend. Trust me, I am NOT TRYING TO BE A JERK. I I genuinely want you to succeed. But if you really are going around flirting with possibly 25 grand because of gambling in a drunken haze then you SERIOUSLY need to maybe rethink this decision....$25,000 is nothing to sneeze at my friend, that's pretty serious money. OR go get yourself cleaned up a bit before you start your pursuit of your dream.
And again, do NOT take this personally but either you legitimately have some of the worst grammar/punctuation on this earth OR you are super drunk and attempting to update us (which we appreciate)....if it's the latter and in your control, that is definitely not a good idea. Also, hopefully your wife can talk a little bit of sense into you before you end up having any serious regrets.
Again, best of luck to you brother and kudos for wanting to and actually living your dream...but for the love of god, make sure you are in control of everything you can be. What I mean is, you may not be able to control if a guy flops set over set on you...but you sure as hell can control/do damage control if need be....that is, IF YOUR MIND IS CLEAR.

On the right sauce his dream could be over by sunrise. I don't believe this kid knows much about hard times. Or about what living the dream causes one to lose EVERYTHING every now and again. Gamblers tend to have false positive confidence in winning at games of chance. Forget yesterday and no way they drum me at blackjack 4 days in a row. Bj saps play "by the book" so they will take the book and they know every line to the movie Rounders. So they claim to be pro Bj players until they lose $25,000 on one of the cloudy daze of "I'm gonna show the casino who's boss" attitudes thanks to drugs. You can't understand winning until you have lost and lost big. I say this is him documenting his own plane crash. Will he survive probably not. But live and learn. Burn your bridges to easy street and finding yourself of lows losing money for rent. That's another great life's first we all have popped our cherry at. When you find yourself locked in a room doing drugs of choice after losing $25,000 and everybody's support which you had to disown to live the dream. I'm just kidding. No family supports a child's beliefs that involves beating casino table games for a living. Fact. The hourglass of gamble sand karma has already been flipped and this kid fleet will earn his wings when sand runs out and has to rebuild from nothing. Hell, I'm on my 3rd or 4th rebuild from scratch during my 9 lives so far. Thing about that is a true G figures out a new plan to brush that last catastrophic disaster under the rug and come back stronger with experience. I'm working on a killer plan now of course for my next chapter. But I love creating huge walls to scale in my path to "live the dream". I am gonna stop here because the sauce has made me forget where I was going with this or if this even makes a completed thought? I just know I need to roll a cigar cause I have to get back to finding the right path myself.

One thing about Harrah's...whenever I need a break there (winning or losing) I go out on the boardwalk off the poker room for some cold fresh air..Too many beers? Gone in 10 minutes..GL you have people rooting for ya but your F'n up...Room Service? you have cheaper food comps to use..and reheat the leftovers the next day with your comped room hairdryer.I know some AC vets with all the tricks, but it sounds like your on a vacation.

@ocd - Most young people call their girlfriend 'wifey' thats the impression I get because if you are trying to gamble full time with a wife and only 25k bankroll, you are in deeep trouble.
@salty - I feel your pain.
@pfleet - Seriously don't ever bet on the Lakers ever again if you want to succeed at life.

now that I know of your background. do what you want.
altho im confused at how with the resume and your age why im reading the thread of what appeared to be a rookie in life in every way possible.
this dream may have sailed tho. damn near everything in life is a young mans game. the wear and tear will get to ya. where are the trips to the exercise rm? and what you are feeding yourself will/is making you sluggish and not sharp. hell I can go on and on how you could improve.
plus you don't appear as a guy who can "hear jimmy" sort a speak..so I would consider throwing the money towards another dream...
but this dream can be accomplished on line now for you.

My personal rules on sports gambling that could help you:
1. Money management. Bet less than 4% of your total current bankroll per bet. Be discipline. 2. Be a strategic gambler by picking your spots and wait for the right opportunity. Never be a compulsive gambler by betting because it's your favorite team or bet against a team that you hate. 3. Stay emotionless all the time. Bet like a robot. There's no place for emotions in this profession. Be unbiased. 4. Do your research by watching game footage, trends and statistics should be used on division rivals only. 5. Never bet on heavily juiced/vig lines. Like a line at -1000 for example. 6. Never bet on heavily valued lines. Like a terrible team at 100 to 1 odds to win championship. 7. Parlays should be no longer than 2 teams, the bigger the parlay is, the bigger the House Edge. Research and Secure your first pick before moving on to your second pick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89HtJmQgjww 8. Teasers should never pass through the zero. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RP3P9OJvukQ 9. Teams with home field/court advantage tend to win games. Sportsbooks know this and favorites the home team. "Whoever is first in the field and awaits the coming of the enemy, will be fresh for the fight; whoever is second in the field and has to hasten to battle will arrive exhausted." -Sun Tzu, the Art of War 10. Never bet on double digit road favorites. You will lose in the long run. 11. Never bet on preseason games on any sport. Predicting a 2nd string and 3rd string team is stupid because of the lack of game footage on mostly unknown players. 12. If you are extremely compulsive, arrogant, drunk and biased. The best advice is to "Don't Gamble". 13. Learn from your mistakes. Most gamblers don't learn from their mistakes. That's why I made these gambling rules.

You're talking about getting free drinks, smoking weed, sampling steakhouses, playing bj. Not the kinds of things a professional gambler would care about

I don't think it's hard to believe. If he went 12-0 in nba and wasn't playing low poker games, then I would have difficulty believing. Too many mistakes to be unbelievable, although I DO hope it works out for him.
