My bank has cashed several of my checks from my online book but refused my last one. They could not give me an explanation as to why the check was returned. I also missed a call from my bank so they obviously felt it necessary to call me. They left no voicemail. That’s the first time they have ever called me.
I’m thinking they refused it because they finally discovered that the checks are coming from an offshore book but I could be completely mistaken. One of their tellers asked me several months ago and I told her the check was online blackjack winnings. She never expressed any problem and the funds were put into my account that day.
Nonetheless, can anyone suggest a bank that they have had zero problems with in regards to cashing checks from online books. Many thanks in advance.

As I always understood the offshore checks can clear through one of a few different processing companies. The problem, therefore, is probably a processor that your bank does not have a regular business relationship with and will put up to a 30 day hold on the funds or even reject the check altogether.

Shortly after posting the original I realized that my bank isn’t the problem. It can’t be, considering the fact that they had already cashed the first 12 checks that I presented to them. Also, they didn’t refuse the check! It was returned for a reason that my bank didn’t even know. The check was returned by the bank in Canada. I have cashed another check since then with no issues, with my same bank. My only guess is that it was some type of minor detail that the Canada bank couldn’t overlook.

Valid question. I wanted to choose direct bank wire but my book requires a minimum of $7,500. Not sure why. As for Bitcoin, I would absolutely choose that option but then I would need to sell the Bitcoin, or convert it to cash. As far as I know, you can’t simply “convert” it. So I would need to sell it. Then I’m looking at additional fees, and I don’t even know how I would sell it. I’ve dabbled in crypto and I own a few of them, but I am largely ignorant when it comes to selling any of it. Cashing checks is definitely old school, but it’s simple, and I don’t mind the inconvenience when I’m making money for a playing a game online.
