well texas may edge out chicago this week but 25 still believe more will die in chicago anyway. we are all criminals. its the way the law is written. weather speeding jay walking, cheating on taxes we are all criminals. not anyone can live lawfully,
so we need more laws to stop the mayhem.... if we get another gun control law on the books we can easily make more prey for gangs lone wolves we need to feel as though we are somehow victimized.
or we have some way to control the carnage.... yep another law should do it...

Despite the differences in population Canada is one gun loving country. The vast majority of us grow up with hunting and fishing as tradition. Per capita we have close to as much gun ownership as the USA despite all our "tough" gun laws. The larger question at hand is we do not have these kind of mass shootings happening so what makes us so different?
There is Poverty in Canada, we have unemployment in Canada, we have access to all the same violent popular culture elements such as video games, movies, music etc. and we have mental health concernss as well. Yet we do not just "snap" and have the types of mass shootings you see in the USA. So it must just be the law of large numbers? ie difference in population right? Like I mentioned earlier per capita our gun ownership is right up there with the USA. We loves our guns but we don't snap and off innocent people in mass numbers.
What makes us so different? This is not a gun control issue imo but I honestly do not know what the answer is.

England has most of the guns outlawed so when you see one its a rare accurence. You have a better chance at getting cut with a machette or hit in the head with a hammer or run over by someone drving a car than getting killed by a gun shot in England.

Lookingtowin is right. Desire for fame is among reasons for mass shooting according to University of Alabama study. Not releasing identity of mass shooter might discourage copycats if there is no fame to gain. Although mental illness is more common among mass shooters, vast majority of murders are committed by sane people. Mass shootings are overhyped but cause a tiny fraction of all murders. Despite films depicting stereotype of crazed killers, actually the insane are far more likely to be victims instead of killers.

Always like visiting the States usually go to Myrtle Beach every second year go to lots of games in Detroit to watch the Tigers and Lions but getting to the point were not sure my family is safe to visit cross border especially sporting events.
C'mon Hoser! Statistically speaking, you're more likely to be gored to death by a moose or run over by Bryan Adams tour bus up there in the Great White North than you are at an American sporting event.
Now take off, eh and calm your nerves with a Labatt Blue.....
