Gambling is the 3rd most prominate addiction & it's never been easier to place a wager. The prop plays are unreal. I find myself playing SOG's (shots on goal) which I never considered before in a hockey game.
Someone's career will be ruined for either betting on games or providing critical inside team info. I also think that some nutjob will put words into action & someone will end up hurt.
The degenerate who was harassing the Ray's players got 3 years probation???
I think the Tommy Phan way of handling things may be the way to go. Screw with me & I'll beak your face.

Legalized gambling will be the end of many things...there is a reason why this shit was relegated to Vegas and certain cities...it's not for everyone....
Here is one way you can tell how gambling has and will continue to change...many people live near or know about a local indian tribunal that started a casino...many may have even frequented this or these locations....If so, the communities would have seen and/or saw how the casino grew from a very small place to an extravagant casino like you might see in vegas with golf courses and a hotel and musical artists performing in these locations...I mean the growth just grew and grew and grew..
Fast forward 20-30 years into the future and you can see a thriving and vibrant extravagant casino/hotel that was once a small building...how did the tribunal communities grow this outlet? From the people that live or drove to that casino thinking they could get rich from gambling and instead donated to the indian casino....
The moral of this story is that you can see what gambling does in your local communities or the outskirts of your local communities by looking at these indian casinos...some of these indian casinos are filthy rich...so much so, that now they have enough money to own and operate casino's in vegas with the capital that they have...Yaamava, which is a huge casino in southern california started out with this small building with card games and slots...so small that when these indian casinos first started that the players were teh bank instead of the casino...each player took turns being the bank with the players on the table and with every hand that was played you had to pay an ante or participation fee every hand of blackjack..this ante or participation could have been anything from $0.25 to $1.00 at the time so 30+ years ago....this ante went to the casino and with no risk from losing with the players because the player was the bank...friggen genius they were...fast forward 10-15 years or so from that and all of the sudden the indian casino was the bank and their building grew a little...each year that went by the building grew more and more and then a hotel popped up and a golf course and an entertainment center with high profile musicians or artists performing....I saw this with places like Yaamava, Pechanga, Barona, Viejo, Sycuan, Chumash, Morongo and so on....My time in san diego I saw all these casinos grow and used to frequent...My local indian casino was Chumash and it started off as a little ass tent....then they created a small structure then an addition to the small structure...and then another edition and so on until they built a hotel and have huge entertainers in that Santa Ynez valley...the growth was very noticeable and visible and all of that was based on losers they profited from who frequented their facility....

Yup l. Where I live, within a 20 mile radius we have THREE casinos, two Indian Casinos, one in Soo Michigan, one in Brinley MI (20 miles away) and a charity casino on the Canadian side of border. The biggest casino, Vegas Kewadin owned by the Chippewa, started of very small then grew to where they added a hotel and entertainment center and after that grew they were able to buy up Greektown Casino in Detroit so yes they grew big but it also helped the community around them. I mean I love pretty much in the middle of nowhere, SSM only has 30k pop but all the casinos bring in the tourists and the revenue
