Bookie in non win deal. Now way he kills anybody. Even if he writes off your bros debt, he still is killing it. Your bro at worst might get beaten by a couple guys. Bookie don't need murder charge, believe it.

Some books WILL give that much credit. Those who say not are just talking out of their butt.
No local is gonna give some random guy 240k credit. At 10 to 15 k they are gonna be hounding you for the cash. At 50k your life is in jeopardy. At 240k you families life is at stake.

I assume this thread is serious, if not you are a worthless individual. I am going to believe you are sincere and it is serious and reply accordingly.
If your brother is telling the truth that he is stuck a huge amount don't give him any money. He will take that money and try and run it up and not pay the bookie a cent. Listen man pay serious attention to what I am saying.
If you decide the bookie is a serious and danger guy and you decide to pay him that's your prerogative. If you decide he is not a danger to you or your family and you are not paying a cent that is also your prerogative. If you are paying him DO NOT SELL YOUR CAR AND HAND HIM 40k. Let's say you decide to pay him, what you will have to do is negotiate a settlement. Also if you get 40k the smart move is to tell bookie something like I can pay 3k a week not ever ever hand him 40k. No bookie is going to say " no I don't want 3k a week I want it all or you are in danger" This would buy you and your brother time to reevaluate. The minute you give the bookmaker all the money you have you lose all your leverage. THE LEVERAGE YOU HAVE BECAUSE OF THE MONEY IS WITH BROTHER AS WELL AS BOOKIE..If you decide to pay and make a lump payment you are a fool. Also if you are paying 3k a week you can tell your idiot brother
1. Get a job
2 go to gamblers anonymous 3-5 times a week
3 never ever ever ever gamble again
4 stop being a lowlife
5. Add whatever you want to the list
The minute he stops doing any of this the bookie gets no more payments from you. Also if your brother lives at home these guys are not brain surgeons unless your family are extremely wealthy, which obviously isn't the case or you would not be stressing. Letting someone get in the hole 240k who loves with mommy is a little silly. He may actually be stuck 40k and want you to pay it so he can win it back in march madness.
There are tons of different aspects to this I sent you a friend request if you have any questions to ask me privately. I will tell you up front In my profession I am connected to law enforcement so if you are dumb enough to try and harm the bookie don't accept my friend request and don't contact me. If you just want the best answers I can give them to you and I want nothing in return. I am sorry to hear you are in this predicament. Good luck

great advice above. from what i've read id bet your brother is scamming you. Maybe he is down money to a bookie but i could almost guarantee you he is exaggerating that amount so he can get money to try and win it back with and over emphasize the situation to make you want to help him more. Tell him to give you the bookies number and talk to him yourself to find out what the deal was. Ask him a few questions about what games he took to get him in the whole and how that kind of credit limit is a joke and should not be honored and try and cut a fair deal if he in fact does owe a lot of money. Once you get the games he told you he lost on quickly follow up with your brother and ask him what games he took to get so stuck and if he has a different story you know they are scamming you. If he actually believes he is in danger seriously tell him to get the hell out of town and to send money in mail/wester union if he intends to pay the guy back.

Hey guys, add it all up. Clearly it's his debt. No one and I mean NO ONE is selling a $60,000+ new car for 40k to help pay off the part of a family members debt. Add that to the "his parents" slip up and the fact that he seems legit nervous about this and it's clear.
That said, I couldn't care less what happens here.
Who's everyone like tonight?
