i think my dad thinks the same as you sheila
he got confused too
Yeah I can see how anyone who watches pro wrestling more than sports can easily get confused. lol
btw I don't watch wrestling anymore since the 80's but Lex Luger is my fave wrestler too not because of his wrestling but because he's a geniunely, friendly, hilarious cool down to earth guy.
It's a long story for another day but to make a long story short. I was at a Strip Club early 90's called Lookers in Newark, NJ and he walked in about 5 mins after me. He was sitting about 20 yards away in front of me and I kept looking at him like a poker player without being too obvious when I realized he looks a lot like Lex Luger. I remembered I'd make sure I only look when a bargirl was in front of him or when a hot stripper walked by him so it wouldn't be too obvious - I was already buzzed from another bar and I wanted to make sure I wasn't staring. I kept thinking to myself it can't be him, what are the odds and on top of that what are the odds of him being in a strip bar in Newark. I was thinking it's just someone who looks like him - really big guy with a similar beard and longer hair that "look" was sort of popular back then. It turns out it was in fact Lex Luger.
I ended up chatting with him, bought him a round, he bought a couple of rounds, and in between we started joking and playing pranks with the strippers. In span of 30 mins he basically acted unpretentious, hilarious n polite just like one of your friends who wants to party all the time but he had to leave when a crowd of 20 started gathering around him to either chat or get an autograph.
I don't drink anymore and been clean for 10 years but out of my top funny drinking escapades over those years, that definitely ranks up there just because Luger acted like you would never imagine - just a regular guy who loves to laugh n have a great time. I'm not one of those people who follow wrestling ( I think its kinda goofy lol , no offense to people who watch it, I used to be into it too and I'll occasionlly watch it when things get over the top n hilarious ) but every now and then whenever I hear of Lex Luger or see him on tv or JTV, I only wish the best for him and hope the "business" is treating him well.
