Simple question. Has anyone paid any company for picks and if so what were the results? I constantly get texts from different companies about their “lock” for the night and about three weeks ago I fell hook line and sinker. They started out ok but not great and all but guaranteed me that I would win $1,500 a week. Of course they were telling me to bet $500 on their big games and $250 on others. Here we are three weeks later and they’ve gone 3-9 in their last 12 “big” games and when you include my “investment” to them of $100, $500 and $750 I am now done $4,300 over the last three weeks. What a damm fool I am! All the recent blowouts and they haven’t hit one. Who knows where they get their information from but I don’t believe I’m getting their best picks. A few guys on here are so much better. Sorry to complain but just wanted to get anyone else’s feedback on scams like this. Thoughts???

I have been betting on sports for over 30 years. I will NEVER pay someone for picks. The sports handicapping business is a sleazy profession. Around 20 years ago, an employee of the offshore book I was using quit and stole the personal info he had access to, mainly phone numbers. He then sold the info to anyone who would pay for it. This guy started calling me everyday trying to sell me picks during the NBA playoffs. I told him he wasting his time. He finally stopped calling when I told him to give me his number and I would call him and give him the play of the day for free.

These guys no nothing more than anyone here and can get hot but are a bunch of losers. If anyone says they have "late or inside information" they're lying, it's a marketing ploy. I usually reply to them and ask if their inside info is someone just took a shit and is lighter now. Stay away at all costs. On the other hand, i used to track about 100 services, tracked by pick size, totals versus sides and I would then take that info and if athree bad services were on a side of a game and five good services were on the other side, that resulted in a strong play. That can be done with posters on forums or on service plays. I only did this for football and did very well but you have to be organized, dedicated and disiplined without distractions.
Good luck going forward, don't try to get it all back at once or quickly. Gambling is a marathon, not a sprint. Continue getting their picks and tell them you won't send them more money until they have you in the black and fade the hell out of them. Also use some of the great cappers here and at other forums and you have to track guys here as well because many don't post their ongoing records.
Good luck

Don’t ever pay someone for your picks. They just know as much as you do and most of the times you will know more than them. Gambling is being confident in making your own picks and letting luck ride it out. If you lose, then you learn from your picks.

Yes, I started this season with an individual sharp and not a service or company. I started with coaching services, but full time school and full time work put a damper on my ability to give my plays their due diligence and my results suffered. So I upped my package to include his picks and in 60 days he is 45 / 70 and +6.5 units (cost me 3 units for a years worth).
I have stepped my betting up this year from leisurely to more business like. Do I know more than someone who does this day in and out professionally......I do not. Do I manage my own stocks (I have none), 401k (I have none), surgeries (I have some), Home repairs.......no, I hire a professional. You hear that 95 % of bettors lose. Then you read that 95 % of responses vehemently oppose paying for picks. So IDK, it works for me at this point.
If you do your homework, find someone that appeals to you, vet them, ensure they have a sports watch monitoring service, and believe in their methods then it is a perfectly reasoned business expense.

It’s simple... if any capper knew all the winning picks, why would they need to sell them to you to make money?
And always remember, even the best cappers have cold stretches... it’s inevitable.
True story... Coming off an amazing week (last week), I started this week going 0-16 on $200 units. Worst start to my week in years. I was down 4.8k by Tuesday, but I’ve been in worse situations many times before and have nobody to blame but myself... so I sucked it up and decided to really concentrate on every move and make sure it was the smartest possible decision I could make. I rode a few hot cappers here and completely quit following those who went cold. Set realistic goals for each day and never took chances beyond that (ie - try for 400 on wed playing 1/4 units and stop, 800 thurs with 1/2 units and stop, 1200 Friday with full units, etc.) My goal wasn’t to get it all back, but rather try and chip at my weekly losses without adding too much further damage. Four days later, I’m currently at +1.8k for the week, sitting on my last open leg of a $50 5 teamer, and have no idea where my dumb luck came from. Somewhere along my plan I felt good and took some shots that happened to work out. It’s been a very stressful week, but even after 14 years of sports betting, I still taught myself that there’s always room for discipline. Sorry for rambling, but I thought my story might personally give you some inspiration...
You can do it, too... It’s possible. And if you hit more bad luck trying to fix your situation, just make sure to remember there will be better days ahead! Don’t take shots you can’t afford and live to fight another day!
I also suggest trying this one week because it might help you learn how to carefully make selections... Take just $20 and turn it into $2560. Try to select one winner a day for a whole week, doubling up every day. That’s only 7 winners in a row to hit that and you’re only risking $20. You’ll also really start taking it seriously if you reach the last few! Haha
20>40>80>160>320>640>1280>2560
Best of luck!

I’ll add my 2 cents to this. Yes I was down this week as well mon , Tuesday, and wed more than I ever wanted to be down, tailed a few here and there and was down by Wednesday. Then i said F it I’ll do my own capping, I’m not the brightest in capping, but I do have a Dr degree, I did my research and really read and read and played my own plays and some other hot cappers on this site was on the same so knew what I research and calculated was somewhat to my liking. By Sunday night I was up again BUT back to your initial question : do people pay for picks?
Yes they do, not me however but from my understanding is that Bookies, yes your local bookies ( or middleman) that gives you your account locally, they’re the ones that pay for picks. Might not make sense to you but they’re the ones paying for these services. Just 1 guy pays for the picks and they share amongst the other local bookies and divide the cost of that play/pick. That’s why if any one of you reading this that have a personal bookie and have lost alot of money and that bookie once in awhile feed you a free play, and it hits, it’s not because they know more than you , it’s bcuz they paid for that pick. They bet too and they give you a winner here and there so that you keep coming back and lose more n more...
So my point is sometimes paying for pick works bcuz they only give you pick a few times a week and not daily. People who actually pays, divide amongst their group and they slam those plays, that is my understanding....I might be wrong though, anyone else have an input on this?

Me and a friend get those texts all the time. Sometimes they would send us the same picks, sometimes opposite picks in same game. Theyre playing the %'s that the ones that hit they can keep on a leash, the rest they say "my bad that was a bad play, gimme 1 more shot to show u" and if they hit they can rope some people in. They just mass text and hope they can rope a few degens.
On the other hand, if you can find a single person who doesnt work for a group and just does it for himself, theres a chance you could get some solid info cuz hes not mass texting to rope suckers. Good thing this site does that. You have a group of people here just capping for themselves and want to help with their info so we can all win. Some are good, some are ok, but if you can put together all the info from everyone, you can get some good info to make a decision.

So here's an interesting aside. Listen to a video of my sharp explaining a pick. "Do I think team A is going to win, I don't have any idea. But it a good wager with excellent value, the outcome is irrelevant."
So for me, find people who will help you find good angles, value, etc......run from the others.
