Going to Boyne Mich. for a week of golf. Love the herb but do not want to bring it across the border for fear of getting busted. If I buy it in Mich. what is the penalty for small poss.eg 10 grams. Tks.

Michigan:&#xD;&#xA;It is a crime to knowingly or intentionally possess any amount marijuana (including small amounts for personal use) in Michigan. Penalties include a fine of up to $2,000, up to one year in jail, or both. (Mich. Comp. Laws Ann. &#xA7; 333.7403(1).)

Our beloved government classifies it a schedule I meaning, among other things, that it has no medicinal value and it cannot be administered safely even in the presence of a doctor.

Meanwhile, our government holds a patent on the medicinal properties of the plant.

Nothing wrong with smokes and beer though. Those are perfectly safe habits and hurt nobody. Just stay away from the Devil's Lettuce and you'll be fine.

On a happier note, the Supreme Court of Canada just ruled that it is unconstitutional for medical marijuana patients to be deprived of edibles, legalizing them nationwide in the process.

That's kinda big news.

Speaking of ridiculous. DEA moved Oxycodone (aka Vicodin) to a schedule II from Schedule III 6 months ago.

All that does is crowd up jails, courtrooms, increase the street value, cause more violence and price out addicts that cannot afford it. 20.00 a pill is not affordable for the junky, so they buy smack which is far cheaper instead.
